There is a walking path from DHS to the Boardwalk right?
How long would it take to walk it?

We walk to DHS all the time when we stay at the BWVs or the BCVs. When you leave the park just go to the right and follow the waterway and you will see the path (there is a sign).

It's about a mile, so however long it takes you to walk a mile.

(3/4 mi. if you cut thru the pool area)

I'm a pretty fast walker and I walk from DHS to Epcot's International Gateway in 20 minutes,so I would assume most people can walk it between 20-30 minutes. From DHS to the Boardwalk I would agree with the 13-17 minute estimate.

Usually takes us 15 mins from BW to DHS. There was the night that we were leaving Epcot and I really needed to get to DHS in order to see the Osborne Lights before we left the next day. So, we 'walked' from the Gateway to DHS....I actually made a quick stop in our BWV studio on the way....we made it to DHS in 18 mins total, including the stop in our room. But, it wasn't leisurely!!!!

We walked from EP to HS for the first time this year and I was really surprised how quick it was. We did it much quicker than waiting for the water taxi with all the stops it makes.

We walk at a fairly normal pace and it is about 15 minutes from BWV to the bag check at DHS. It is a HOT HOT HOT walk though if you are doing it in a warmer month. There is little to no shade.

I completely agree that there is little to no shade so if it is really hot and sunny the Friendship boat is the way to go.

Also, if there is any chance of rain you need to know that except for one underpass with a roadway above there is no place to go if it starts raining. We found this out the hard way a few years back walking to the Studios. We used the cover of the underpass for a while. Then the rain slacked off and we continued walking. Sure enough, about half way from the underpass to the Studios it started pouring. We were VERY, VERY soaked by the time we got to the park. Luckily the Florida sun came out and dried us off pretty quickly.

I have noticed that the walk TO HS from the BW is much quicker. The walk BACK takes a little longer! :lmao:

Seriously, with little ones (or cranky out of shape big ones), plan for about 5 minutes longer on the way back...

We're planning on doing that in December, going from HS to Flying Fish at the Boardwalk and back to HS for Osborne Lights. If it's really cold out, a twenty minute walk may not be that great. What is the next best and convenient way of getting back and forth.

Assuming weather is too cold, the boat would be the other WDW transpo option. The boat travel time to/ from BW takes @ 17 minutes, not including load/unload time or waiting for the boat to arrive. You do have the option to save time off that trip by embarking/disembarking at the Swan/Dolphin, and doing the short walk to/from BW (maybe 4 minutes from S/D boat landing to FF).
That may not be an option if weather is a concern.

And, keep in mind that if you just missed the boat to HS from BW, it's then heading to Yacht/Beach Club, then to S/D. So, you could walk to the left and catch the same boat at the S/D dock.

Thanks for the tip. Btw, there is no bus directly from HS to the Boardwalk?

The Epcot resorts (Boardwalk, Beach/Yacht Clubs, and Swan/Dolphin) do not have buses to either Epcot or the Studios (although I have read there is bus service to the main entrance of Epcot but I have never seen it). Both parks are an easy walk (especially Epcot) and you have the option of the Friendship boats. The boats travel between the Studios and Epcot stopping along the way at the Epcot resorts.

Nope...just the sidewalk or the boat. If, for some reason, the boats are shut down, they will run a bus to these resorts, but that doesn't happen very often. I stay at BW a lot, and have never had to take a bus back there from DHS.
There is a bus that runs between DHS and the front of Epcot though.

There is a bus from the Studios to the front of Epcot (and back), but not from the Epcot resorts.

Except when the boats are shut down due to weather conditions.
