WOW. Thats not like my DH. But he was talking last night about them. He said that passports are not going to ruin a vacation,:woohoo: To be turned back at the border. Now what is the cost of one, and where do we go? DD18 works at a photography store and she takes the photos. What else?:confused3 Oh, whens the dead line to have one too. There is Me, DH, DD 15, DD (will be 19) and we have talked her Db to go. Now to save and sock that money away. We are starting to realize that life is too short and who knows. Some said "Live Each Day Likes Its Your Last"

You should be able to find all your answers on the official passport site:

Go in person to the Kitchener office to get them...very quick & not a bad drive for you!

Hi again. What ID information do we need to take with us when we go to fill out for a passport? And I still don't know the dead line to have one?

Any post office and most places that take your passport picture should have the application forms. They are very detailed as well, and most everything you need is listed in it.

And I still don't know the dead line to have one?

If you are flying from Canada to the USA you need a passport, now.

If you are crossing into the USA from Canada via land (ie at Buffalo) you do not currently need a passport (only proof of citizenship). At some point you may need a passport to cross via land, but the date of this proposal is currently TBD. It may be sometime during 2008 or 2009.

:rotfl: When I read your thread title, I thought, "you can get TALKING PASSPORTS?!"

Good luck with getting the passports! I guarantee, some day soon you'll be glad you did it now so you don't have to stress with a deadline looming up.

I think rules are changing in August/ October re: who can act as guarantor, and what you need to do if you are renewing a passport; but just so you know, if you complete application online (can't do it for under 16 - too many custody arrangements) you can ease time wait once get to office. At least that's true in Ottawa. I spent 45 mins waiting in line to get into office. Once in there, I had online completed apps printed off and signed by appropriate folks for me and hubby, and hard copy versions (only ones possible) for my 2 daughters - I was kicked to different processing line once inside, and was out before the guy in line before me (in outside line) even got to speak to someone (he had only hard copies completed). So, even with two kids (who I couldn't fill out stuff online for) I was processed differently because I had done two adults online.

You still need to print it off, and sign it - but the act of entering it online saves them time, at office, I guess - do it. It saves a lot of aggravation.
