But the thing is, "a CM said it" is the LEAST believable of rumors.

I have to disagree. A rumor coming from a Disney bus driver is the least credible source of rumors.

Seriously though, I mentioned in my original post that CM rumors were not reliable. I wasn't suggesting that the rumor WAS true because a CM said it, but I was looking for more than "It's probably NOT true because a CM said it".

I must admit I did not read all of the posts... however...

I have a very VERY close relationship with Epic. With all of the money recently spent on that stage for improvements and upgrades, and the pilot project that is about to launch there in two months, I find it highly unlikely that they have plans to remove it.

You do know that the Dinosaur ride @ DAK is the same as Indy @ DL, right?

Star Tours 2.0 is going on concurrently with the one @ DL. DL is adding nothing so it stands to reason, construction schedules being identical, DHS will also only be making changes to the ride. Besides that, I was @ DHS a couple of weeks ago and the Indy show is still immensely popular, with SRO @ every show. I could see them tweaking it to add something from Star Wars (it is a show about filming stunt scenes after all and has no plot line) but I sincerely doubt they'll change it over completely.

The theater for the Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular is a large, high-capacity, and valuable facility.

If the Stunt Spectacular ever reaches the end of its run, you can bet that the replacement will be another show that uses the theater, not a ride or anything else that does not reuse the theater.

I agree, That would be like saying HM, Buzz and Nemo in Epcot are all the same because they use the omnimover ride vehicle system.

That's what I was told by a CM friend of mine who was on the opening team for both attractions.

As far as Cast Member rumors go, my cousin works at WDW. Now, he works at the Team Disney building and doesn't hear many, if any attraction rumors. But, when he worked at the parks he would tell me different rumors. Some of these were true and some were just Blue Sky ideas. I remember him telling me about an attraction for the Studios called Ghost Writer. I later found out that it was a proposed attraction that didn't get the greenlight. So, I pay at least some attention to Cast Member rumors. Some of the wilder ones may have been real ideas, but as we know, few of those ideas actually make it to the parks.

A friend was at DHS last week and was told by a CM that the Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular will be closed and the area will be used for a new Star Wars attraction. No closure date or info about the new attraction was given.

Now I take everything with a grain of salt until it is officially announced by Disney and I know there is a lot of "misinformation" coming from CM's. However, I like to follow these rumors because they sometimes end up being true.

Has anyone else heard something similar?

What's to prevent them from having a Star Wars Land similar to A Bug's Land and the forthcoming Cars Land at DCA? I realize they are in California but it is a Disney park that contained multiple attraction based on the same intellectual property.

I'm, of course, playing devil's advocate here. I think it's very unlikely that Disney would dedicate and entire section of the park to a property they don't outright own. I mean they aren't Universal.

And that's exactly it. "Star Wars Land" will never happen because it's not a smart move from a synergy standpoint. Bug's Land and Cars Land work and are logical because they are Disney properties. Disney pays LucasFilm a huge amount in annual royalties for Star Tours and JTA and all the other Star Wars characters / theming / gak that is at the Studios. Why would they expand that area and pay LucasFilm even more, when they can take a DISNEY-owned product (Sorcerer's Apprentice, say, or some popular, under-utilized live-action property) and build something around that?

In virtually all of the recent shareholder meetings or earnings calls, Bob Iger has been very clear that Disney is currently all about building franchises. The products the are looking at are those that can yield "Pirates"-like or "Toy Story"-like products. It's why no more money is going to the Narnia films -- because they didn't go anywhere. Disney-branded talent, stories, creative is where he's looking. He's very big on the whole synergy thing. If Disney is going to pay big bucks for something, they're going to base it on their own stuff, not put more money in someone else's pockets.
