Anybody know if the playground is still open at DHS? I had read it would be closing. We missed it on our first trip and I was hoping to let the kids play there. Not a huge deal as there will be plenty to do, just curious.

This is one thing that I can't understand why they would ever close it. If they are truly planning to expand the Pixar presence in DHS, they could literally change the "theming" from HISTK to A Bug's Life overnight. Change the sign and...voila! Maybe they would/could/should touch it up just a bit more than that, but again, very easily done virtually overnight (with some advanced planning, obviously, to have anything new ready to screw down)...and obviously, much cheaper than going to the trouble of pulling it all out and replacing it with something else. I'm all for shiny, new and exciting new rides, etc., but for a park that needs something for younger kids, keeping the playground seems like a no-brainer.

I realize this doesn't answer your question, but the first responder did that, so I thought I'd just take the opportunity to jabber on for a bit...ha!

Ha. I agree. I think that park had the least for my kids to do the first time we went. The playgrounds give them a chance to free play without having to wait in long lines. We missed it the first time we went due to a rain storm and we didn't know they closed it an hour before the park closed. Oops...didn't do my research did I?

It was open three weeks ago and as crowded as ever. Sorry I don't know for sure if/when it will be closing.

ha...I'm not worried. My sister kept telling us how cool it was when we were there and we missed it. I'm sure we will have plenty to do to keep us busy. Thanks!!

I hope they never close it. My kids had a blast on it and it's the one of the few parts of the parks that I remember from when I went at 9 years old.

I agree they should change this to It's a Bug's Life. It wouldn't be difficult to do. It is a fun playground for kids.

It was open when we were there last week. DS had alot of fun on the slides.
