DHS Frozen -- I don't think I get it!

This doesn't appeal to is personally, but I like the direction of it all. I think the idea of doing something with a movie while it is popular makes a huge difference, it doesn't always have to be a major attraction to grab ahold of a film's popularity. If they could have done something like this for Wreck it Ralph my family would have freaked. A video game themed area with the tie ins, characters and video games would have made all 4 of us freak. Hopefully this is successful enough that Disney sees value in continuing the "spirit" of it all.

I know it's one thing to post kinda of anonymously on a discussion board, but when I spoke the works, "I didn't like Frozen...at all..." at work; well, you can imagine the firestorm I started. People just don't "get" when you don't like things they LOVE. I think it's the magic of Disney movies, if they speak to you in some way, you will forever be a fan. I will never forget the way I sobbed in Tarzan when his "mother " wanted to keep him despite what the group wished. Or the way Carl comforted Ellie when she was told they wouldn't have children. All of the Toy Story movies get to me because I always felt my toys had feelings. But Frozen, on the other hand, didn't speak to me at all. Not one word. My BFF has two little girls though, and her dream is for the two of them to be each other's best friends. She of course, loved it.

I also have to selfishly admit that I was bummed out all this craziness is taking place EVERY DAY while we are there. DHS is our favorite park. Too bad they couldn't make Arandelle a temp country in Epcot. Drat. Also, no hope now of my DVC waitlist to come through. There are NO rooms available. Sigh.

It goes 2 ways.

Would you like people to question "is it me or does anyone else wonder why people don't get the Frozen hype".

Normally I'd never post that because I believe everyone has the right to like or dislike anything. I'm just putting this question out so you see it from the other angle.

It would have been nicer to start a discussion by sharing your experience (even if you disliked it) .... Otherwise we'd all be starting threads questioning how we don't get why people like the things we dislike.

But in all honesty, I hope the non-frozen part of your Disney vacation was enjoyable. Hope you had a magical vacation.

While it's clear some do or don't care for all new Disney things, it's hard to deny that Frozen was the biggest to come along in a long time, and it really hit the mark appealing to a wide range of girls and boys. And US Marines. (google it.)

So what's interesting to me is seeing how Disney manages the tie ins. They've had some wins and some losses in this territory... and Frozen started off as a big loss when they could not even keep merchandise on the shelves nor manage to get some character greetings up and running!

But they've gotten their act together now and I hope they can satisfy the demand now.

I am amazed how sometimes Disney's seems surprised by their own success!
