DHS Crowd Q - Monday Dec 13th

My plan is to go DHS on Monday the 13th, but that is a fantasmic night. Everyone says avoid DHS on a fantasmic night, but do you think the crowds will really be that bad on that date?

'Bad' is relative that time of year.

We'll be there the night before, for EMH. We're in WDW that week (second full week of December) most years. No noteworthy crowds, even on 'bad' days.

But then, I have no use for crowd predictors in general and never purchase such information - all I know is, on a December trip, I've never seen crowds. And I have never waited more than 15 minutes for anything (well, we do use fastpass for some things like TSM and Soarin).

Because of EMH the night before, I would think that opening the next morning would be a good time to go to hit the big rides in the AM. If the park becomes too crowded by mid afternoon, take a break or park hop to another one! That's what what we are planning to do.

MK has EMH that night, so a lot of people will be going there in the evening.
Last year Disney added several showings of Fantasmic for this week a couple weeks prior. Maybe that helped with crowds because it was not terribly crowded.
I think I read here they have done it in prior years, so maybe they will this year, too.

Thanks for the info! I think I will just stick to my original plan.
This will be our tenth trip, you would think I wouldnt even need to plan anymore.........but that is one of my favorite parts!

hey, wave to us too we will be there the same day. this is the best week to go to disney! we get there early and have no problems. have a great trip! not long now! i can't wait to buy our annual mickey ear ornament, it's always so much fun seeing what they look like every yr!!

yes, Fantasmic nights are the most crowded nights of the week at DHS regardless of how low of overall crowd levels there are that week. I would avoid it.
