DH's coworker's negative WDW comments (vent)

Don't ya just love non-magical people?? Honestly some people just don't "get it" and never will. My kids have loved Epcot since they were very young. Don't let anyone rain on your parade. I learned long ago not to take anyone else's opinion and comments on Disney too seriously. There are soooo many places to vacation in this world, not everyone is going to like everywhere and that is how it should be. I would never get into my favorite resorts otherwise!! DON"T LISTEN, just start humming "When you wish upon a star" and walk away!!! LOL!!!

ENJOY!!

Then, DH looks at me like I am trying to cover up for WDW and says, “And she said the food was horrible.”
:faint:

(I made your quote super small)

My best friend, in the entire world - if she was a man, I'd drug her, drag her to a justice of the peace and make her marry me - does *not* like WDW. Foolish, foolish woman she is....

But DUH - She's been there *once* - she went to the MK, on a Saturday in mid-July, pregnant with 2 ungrateful step-children, a husband who thought the whole day was a waste of money and a 3.5 y/o son whom only wanted to ride Dumbo - A LOT.

Now her kids are 13 & 9 and Im working up a scheme that will have her coming along on a Family Vaca, with us.

You gotta know "something" about what youre doing - or you will be overwhelemed...

I hope to turn my g/f into a Disney-oid, as I did with my Disney-Virgin b/f in 2003. Ahhhh - seeing Disney through the eyes of a newbie is soooo fun!!!

:earseek: wow, you're dangerous...if that is you best friend I would hate to be an enemy :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: I agree with your comments on picking the ideal time to go. My DH has health issues where too much sun/heat agrrivates him...so we try not to go to places in the middle of the July heat...so far, DH has had fun at Disneyland and he just enjoys vacationing with the kids and I...so I have to continue to brainwash him into loving Disney so we can go back in May

Our kids, who were 6 & 1 the first trip and 7 & 2 the second trip loved Epcot.

It has the greatest thing with the characters, the Characters on Holiday bus which unloads at different locations several times a day. They enjoyed looking around, this year we saw the candy maker and they each got one, she is fantastic by the way. They both like the boat ride through Mexico and they both road the one in Norway. They liked the Living Seas and Ice Station cool, riding the boats across the lagoon, the performers and Honey I Shrunk the Audience. We had a great time at Epcot we stayed both trips from the time the park opened until the time the park closed, no breaks, etc. Both years DD has napped in the stroller when she needed to.

I say go to Epcot and have a blast!!!!!

If the coworker said the food was horribly expensive, I'd nod in complete agreement! But it sounds like you've done your research and you will have a great time.

I agree that Epcot is HUGE but at Xmas it is beautiful. We forced our boys (8&5) to go to the Candlelight Processional and it was the best thing we have ever done. My boys also loved seeing all the different countries, checking out the Kidcot stations, and we even saw a Santa or two. As for Future World, we could spend days there!!!

My only complaints of Epcot are size and it is very dark in the World Showcase so hang on to your kids. You are going to have a great time, besides you'll be on vacation~what is ever wrong with that?!

Don't you hate how husbands always believe other people over their wife?

I was discussing this very topic this morning. I am a nurse. My DH will ask me a medical quesiton. I will give him the answer. He will tell me I am wrong (note here that he is a real estate agent and not in the medical profession at all). He will then see our doctor who is also our friend (we walk with him and see him socially) and ask him the same question. Our doctor/friend will give him the same answer I did, and suddenly, it is Gospel.

I find that annoying.

Calll me sensitive, but if my DH acted that way, I would have given him a "look", and asked, "Do you mean to say you value your co-worker's opinion more than mine?" Then I would watch him trying to dig himself out. I know, I'm mean. :teeth:

::yes:: and 'female dog*'-slap him for good measure ::yes::

*the actual word is censored!

My son loves Epcot. He is 7yo, and has enjoyed the Kidcot projects ever since we took him when he was three. (He remembers and asks about the Dream parade that they had about 3 or 4 years ago, at the time of the 100 years of Magic celebration). We just went last week, and went to Epcot three times--once with cousins, once just mom and son, once our whole family. My son and I went all day on Wednesday, and went back for six hours Thursday evening for the extra magic hour. Couldn't get enough of the place. It certainly is my favorite, and I think it is one of my son's favorites also.

My brothers and I loved Epcot as kids, we were 7, 11, and 13 and went in '83. We even liked the few rides they had! I was 7 and loved WS, I thought all the differant countries were cool and interesting.

Then again, I'm also a geek.

Ditto! My brother and I loved Epcot when we were kids. I was really interested in geography so i loved shopping around the world :) . Some of my favourite vacation memories happed during our first trip to Epcot.
