The ride would fit, they would just need to change the exterior theming.

The content of the ride really doesn't fit currently, if they want to do Harry Potter level immersive theming set in a particular moment, which is what they have implied. It contains out of timeline elements. Actually the timeline of the ride doesn't entirely work even internally. It's something of a greatest hits.

It's not the end of the world, but it if they really are looking to create a time and place it's a problem.

I think it works because Disney hasn't given a time or specified location for Star Wars land. I would assume the land will just evolve over time as the movies do.

No, they haven't so I could be misreading their intention. But the fact they went to the trouble of creating a planet to set their "land" on suggests to me a time and place theme not just a collective, Star Wars stuff setup.

Layout of slinky Dog coaster has changed

I just want to double check that my eyes are seeing this correctly, so Slinky Dog now longer "digs" into the ground and the only other thing missing is it jutting out into the pathway? I'm trying to find all the differences but those were the only two I see

And I love that Muppet Courtyard is reusing the same artwork from DCA's walls!

That appears to be it yes. The trenches would be more expensive than bare coaster I imagine. It seems like the length is about the same, but I did see some speculation that the different launch system would mean a shorter ride.

Upon looking up close this actually is a completely different painting! The building with the board game as it's roof is missing, The Buzz statue is missing from his ride along with his roof now being blue, and Midway Mania seems to have it's own little courtyard. Granted what we saw earlier was very rough concept art and this looks very smoothed out but only time can tell which is closer to reality

It does look a bit shorter. It also doesn't have that lift hill it did before.

Is the Premier Theater where Hunchback used to be? Such a fabulous show!

ETA: Sorry, I posted this while reading the thread, maybe when I was back on page 32. I see the question's already been answered.

Agreed, that was my favorite show back in the day.

Just thinking about how to get from Pixar place to sci fi dine now. The new map doesn't show a pathway between the two. Tot story street is kind of cut off. Is there a shortcut? Or do you walk all the way back around. My fast pass for toy story and lunch reservations are back to back.

You'd have to walk all the way around in front of the Chinese theater.

I know things always change from the concept art, but I was really hoping they wouldn't fiddle so much with Slinky Dog. I agree that Slinky look shorter now and although the watered down version appeals to me more as a rider (I don't really do coasters), I really liked the thought of challenging myself with the fancier coaster. And considering how many people came out of the woodwork to complain about how much of a kiddie coaster the first rendering was, I can't imagine what this change will eventually bring. I loved the trench and bridge aspect of it; that would have been a good spot to stand and take pics of your group riding or cause a little mischief and spray them with water as they go by ... hey! If they can make Pirates a water ride now, we can make Slink a water ride ...

I'm getting a kick how on the park map the whole backlot/SoA section is shown as being trees.

Nothing to see here - move along.

Yeah we all fell asleep for a 100 years and a forest of thorns grew as if overnight...

Not worried about walking, worried more about timing. But hey, if it only will take five minutes to get from one to another than I'm in the clear.
