DH unhappy with add on payment error

It's unfortunate you chose to post the problem here before giving Disney a chance to take some action. All that whining and complaining, and getting other Disers upset, for nothing. Hope that made you feel better :cool1:

Being from the banking industry in a previous life, and working with credit cards in my current life, I would say this was a credit card company problem.

Normal procedures are to enter a charge via a terminal. The transaction is either accepted or declined right then. An authorization number is automatically tied to the transaction. The system would then pass the transaction along to the CC Co via a nightly settlement process. It's all electronic.

Unless Disney submitted a completely off-line (eg via paper) charge, there's really no way around it.

And the CC Co could have processed it based on the OPs approval.

Happy for the OP that Disney is so customer service oriented, but too bad Disney is out the money.

JMHO

EDITED TO ADD: I just read the OPs last post about the message that Disney got but didn't call on.

Wow, jctwizzer I am sorry if you felt I did a lot of 'whining and complaining and getting other Disers upset for nothing'.

I did not mean to whine. I was simply sharing an experience as many others do here. I am very happy with the way the situation was resolved but I certainly wouldn't have sulked if nothing could be done.

I did not slate Disney, I just said they had made a clerical error. I love Disney and everything about it.

To everyone else who read my post, I truly am sorry if I upset anyone. I guess I misunderstood the sharing aspect of this forum. I thought it was ok to post about good and not so good experiences.

I, for one, am confused about this thread. I've re-read it thoroughly and can only assume that I must have missed about 90% of what was said here.

I didn't find any "whining and complaining." I just read a disappointed post outlining a mistake that Disney had made which appeared to have cost the OP $140.

I also had trouble finding any "upset" posts. All I saw were a whole bunch of constructive posts from a community of friends offering helpful insights, suggestions and support. If anybody was trashing Disney, I failed to find it.

I thought the original post was a legitimate opening for a sensible discussion about a real problem. I also appreciate the OP's constructive attitude throughout the discussion, and the fact that she quickly advised us when Disney did the right thing. Many posters would never have taken the time to do that.

I know the kinds of threads you are talking about. We've all seen the squealing and wailing about absolutely nothing that pop up occasionally. But I do not think this thread was one of those.

Thank you Jim for your reply. It is nice to know that not everyone misunderstood the context of my post. I would hate to be thought of as a whinger.

or even a whiner.... :rotfl2:
No, yours was a positive post and you even came back to laud Disney for making it right. Some posters here on the dis take it upon themselves to chastize others for saying anything negative about good ole Disney. Perhaps we all need to post at the top of our thread: "there may be some venting in this post, so if that offends you, please don't waste your time reading."

I doubt anyone but the namecalling poster thought your were whining!
So, the dolllar is gaining strenght against the Euro???? Surprise surprise!

Take care, glad your sitch was resolved to your satisfaction. Yea to Disney for making it right!

Thanks for letting us know how it came out. FYI - I do not think you were whining, I'm glad you shared with us that it was resolved well, and if Disney was told to contact the cc co., and did not, then it's only right they refund you the difference. Enjoy your DVC!

DVC actually lost our $10,000 + check when we joined! We had to put a stop payment on it! They were very apologetic. It was a little scary, but it all worked out.

By the way, welcome home!
