That's about what we are spending for our family of 4, 6d MYW staying in a value. We leave in 2 weeks. Not sure how much rates would change for a couple months out.

We always bring in snacks/food/water etc and we aren't TS people. We are happy to grab QS meals when we want them. I think your budget sounds doable as long as you don't want 1st class Disney.

that is very doable. We are 4 going for 14 nights for around 3000.00. We do have FD QSDP but there is a discount out now. We have a 10 myw with WP.

I priced it out on the Disney website using the discount that is out for the spring. The dates I chose were 4/20-4/27 but any dates that fall in the "regular season" between 4/7-5/30 would also work.

• DDP for 7 nights 2 adults, 1 child
  
• total cost = $2419.11

You could shave a couple of nights off of the trip, which would save on room and DDP costs. If you only stayed 5 nights, it would come in just around $1950. If you want to stay a full week, you will have to look into an offsite resort.

Come in on a Sunday night and check out on a Friday and you will shave a few hundred off your total. Several spring breaks are in march and April so you might run into peak pricing.

We always eat breakfast in the room, except for Crystal Palace or Akershus.
We aren't big breakfast eaters.

Value resort. Non park hoppers. Table services for Lunch are cheaper than dinner most of the time, if you are paying OOP. Play with the number of days worth of tickets to buy.

Your budget is very doable. I suggest not purchasing a dining plan and just paying out of pocket for everything. You will probably save extra money doing it that way unless you like eating dessert with both lunch and dinner (plus your snack).

If you are open to staying off site, we have always been happy with the Clarion on palm parkway and can usually get it for 45 a night or less through somewhere like bookit.com.

I agree with those that say to pay OOP for meals. I find that there is way too much food in the meal plan and I don't eat what I want but what gives me the most bang for my buck. I spend way less money when I just pay OOP, but i'm not a dessert person, especially not right after i've just eaten a huge meal.
I always bring breakfast foods with me (cereal, bagels, granola bars, oatmeal, fruit) and my DD's and I eat them in the room. I also bring a jar of peanut butter with me and will often make a bagel with peanut butter to eat for lunches just cause it's quick, filling and cheap. It helps me sprluge a little when it comes to dinners if I feel the need.
With $2k for just room, meals and tickets, you should be able to get a 7 night trip out of it. Maybe plan for 4 or 5 sit down meals instead on one every day?

I would stay at Bonnet Creek! Pretty much onsite..just not Disney owned. You can rent a two bedroom villa for $100 a night including taxes. That would leave you $1200 for tickets and extra spending money.

It is the best deal around and the resort is gorgeous...multiple pools, lazy rivers, bars/restaurant, free mini golf.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I am currently playing around with the numbers too. On site is a must. Dh will not do offsite though I must say bonnet creek just looks gorgeous. Someday, maybe. We are thinking 5 nights or 6 if we can swing it. Ddp is nearly $700 for 5 nights. I think I can do better than that. We aren't huge eaters. At cs places we usually split two meals and ds sometimes gets a dessert. Dh and ds neither one care for water though so that adds to a bill. We have done breakfast in the room in the past and that worked fine so no added cost there. Ds loves the Ohana breakfast so we will want to do that and b&c which is usually pretty inexpensive. In the past we have split two meals there and got a sundae to share for dessert. What are some other places that are great value?

I think you should do onsite ate a value, NO meal plan, just pay OOP for a ts once a day (no buffets) and get there before your ds turns 10!!! that's the most important thing, cheaper tix and food for kids nine and younger...you will save money by not getting dining plan.....

spliiting cs meals works just about everywhere! (for us at least) that way we leave a little room for a snack later on another tip, you can do a ts cheaper for lunch than dinner normally...so do your big meal for lunch,and lighter dinner,pay oop and save a LOT!
