DH bought some tix for a Broadway show for me for Christmas. I wasn't involved in the transaction at all. He bought the tix from Ticketmaster and thought he'd purchased them for Dec. 29.

Well I asked him this morning to check which date the tix were for so I could line up MIL to babysit. He checked and started ranting and raving. :furious: He'd bought tix for November 29!!!!!!!! Well, that was yesterday.... so we lost the chance to go entirely.

Of course, being a guy, he's insisting that it must be Ticketmaster's fault. At first, he thought the date must reset if you push the back button (only if you go all the way back to the "choose your date" page). Now, he's insisting that it's Ticketmaster's fault because they only give you 2 minutes to confirm the information for your purchase.

So, he's planning on calling Ticketmaster and trying to get a refund from a site that has a very clear No Refund policy. I think he'd be better off to admit that he made a mistake and just go on with life. Yes, it's a bit of money, but luckily we can afford to buy new tickets.

I need a vacation....

Hopefully you can get more tickets. My DH was supposed to buy Seinfeld tickets who is in town on my birthday. He slept in and didn't get them. They sold out in less than an hour. :furious:

Thanks Beth! We live in CT and DH has all of Christmas week off from work, so I'm sure we'll be able to get tickets to some show during that week.. there are 3 or 4 I'd love to see. It's just a matter of having to deal with an irate DH if he can't get replacement tickets reissued.

In DH's defense, the Ticketmaster site does reset the date if you go all the way back to the "choose the date" page and DH bought the tix on Nov. 28 so the date the Ticketmaster site reset to was Nov. 29, so it's an honest mistake.

I'm sorry you weren't able to get Seinfeld tix. If the show hasn't happened yet, you might check Ebay. My SIL has been able to get some good tix to sold out events on Ebay within a day or two of an event. It's surprising how many people buy tickets and then aren't able to go to a show.

Don't be too hard on him. I had ticketmaster get me tickets for the wrong show, then double charge me. He may be telling the truth, and it may be their fault.

Oh, no! :bitelip: :bitelip: I hope that they come through for him. :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

If it makes you feel any better, I'll share my DH's recent SNAFU. DD's birthday is Jan. 2nd and the plan was to celebrate it at Disney. DH wasn't sure what hotel he wanted to stay at, so I told him that he was in charge of making the reservation. He finally made his decision and called this past weekend. Guess what? Disney is completely booked for that week; nothing available at Poly (his first choice), nothing at CR (his second choice), nothing at WL (not even a choice, just a desperate attempt), nothing, nothing!!!!! :badpc: :badpc: :badpc: :badpc: He just kept saying to me, "It can't be. This is supposed to be the slow time of year." Well, apparently that's not the case this year. :sad2: :sad2:

Nope, I haven't been hard on him at all. I told him, "It was a mistake. We all make them. We'll just buy new tix, if that's what we need to do."

At least he didn't give them to you Christmas morning!

Ticketmaster is horrible. Your poor dh.

I can't stand the Tickemaster website. I always try to get my tix at the Ticketmast counter at my Publix--they always seem to be able to find better seats for me for any event/venue.

I had to chuckle at this post, b/c this is sooooo something that would happen to my husband--God love him!

while you might not get anywhere with tickmaster, have you thought about trying to call the box office of the show? they might be a little more sympathetic and willing to exchange the tickets

Once I got an envelope in the mail from Time-Warner, hand addressed to me.

To my surprise when I opened it, there was a piece of paper wrapped around a pair of tickets. MY tickets! Ticketmaster had managed to put my tickets in an envelope with someone else's tickets and send both pair to that person.

Fortunately the person was honest enough to mail them to me.

Moral of the story, Ticketmaster does screw up sometimes.

DH called Ticketmaster and according to the person he spoke to there, the theater the show is at has a policy of letting people exchange their unused tickets for shows on certain days (the least busy days of the week). So, he's going to call the box office at lunch time. Fingers crossed that the box office can exchange the tickets!

what show are you going to see? glad that is seems like it will work out.

this is why you women cant hold us accountable for anything, where just not made that way

Update:

DH did speak to someone at the box office. They let people exchange their unused tix for any that are unsold on the day of a performance on Tue.-Thur. So we'll be able to see the show... Hairspray with Diana Degarmo from AI.

However, there won't be anything for me under the tree if we go before Christmas. I might have to go looking for something.... it strikes me that I would love to see Momma Mia too. :rolleyes1
