We can't wear it to work becuase he works with elevators. You're not supposed to wear them in the elevator shafts or mechanical rooms because of the threat the pose. He usually takes it off and leaves it in a little soccer ball jewelry holder on the bedroom dresser.

He forgot to take it off at home yesterday. He and a friend went out to do their handover inspections. He put it into the change section of his wallet- just the bottom of the billfold area, no zippers, just a typical men's leather wallet.

I called him around 3:00pm and he sent Mark into a gas station to get bottles of water for them while he stayed on the phone with me. We now know that Mark thought just a quarter fell out of the wallet because he picked it up.

Fast forward 3 hours- we finished working out at home and he went to put it back on. Not in his wallet. Not in the car. Not in the parking lot here. Not in the house. :guilty:

We called the gas station and they took a look around but didn't see it. He's going back today in hopes that it's under the lip of a shelf or something. We did leave them the name and number in case it turns up. But, it's Alexandria, VA. I'm not real hopeful. Call is already in to insurance claims.

Keep your fingers crossed and say a prayer to St. Anthony if you can :sad2:

It's funny that you said that. As I was reading your post I thought to myself I wonder is she is Catholic? I pray to St. Anthony all the time. I hope he finds it.

That's so sad!! :(

I hope he is able to find it today!! Always a good idea to retrace your steps!! ::yes::
My DH can't wear one for work either. Too much of a risk!!

Aww, I hope he finds it. I will say prayer to St. Anthony for you, too.

DH can't wear his ring either because he works on a freight train, and it is unsafe. So he misplaces his ring all the time. I usually find it in the pocket of his jeans.

Good luck!

Awww, I hope you find it. I lost the diamond out of my engagemnt ring about a month after DS(20) was born. i was so upset! We never did find it and DH bought me another diamond. I still have it--not losing this one! Good luck :thumbsup2

My DH lost his also. He would take it off and leave it by his computer, we think our DS at the time threw it in the garbage!

We had to get him another one.

Someone I use to work with told me about this and it has always worked. Turn a cup upside down and you will find what you are looking for!

Honestly, I thought I would lose one of mine first. I look at it like it's almost bound to happen because they are special and meaningful. When you were a kid, you never lost the McD's Happy Meal toys. You always lost the ones that you loved and meant the most.

He feels awful. Although I'm upset, it's what's inside and it's what was said as we exchanged those rings that counts. I told him he'd replace it and I'd even say those same vows again before he put it on. That seemed to cheer him up a bit. It's just such a stupid way to lose it- if I hadn't called then, he would have gone in to get the drinks, etc. You know how it is.... argh!

I can imagine how sad he must feel losing his wedding ring.

Sending prayers to St A, good luck :shamrock: and lots of :tinker: !!!

i lost my first one from dw, my half of the matching set, while building hte desk i am sitting at. desk was built in my shop and yard at my house, all lumber was milled here, and it as assembled in this room. we have yet to find the ring, and that was seven years ago.

My DH lost his only a few months after we were married. It was a little too big and fell off in some grass and we never found it. I lost one too, took it off at night and never found it. DH also had his previous 14K ring BREAK - how symbolic is that! We don't buy the most expensive rings anymore.

I hope your DH finds his ring!

My husband lost his last month on our way to WDW. He doesn't wear his due to work, also. Because he's not used to wearing it, he took it off at the stopover hotel before his shower. No one noticed when we left. It wasn't until more than halfway through our trip, that we did. We put in a call to the hotel, but no ne had turned any ring in. I'm sure we'll replace it eventually.

My Dh lost his over a year ago. Not really lost...he let our DD take it off his finger (why, I do not know) and she dropped it into the couch. He flipped the couch every which way, and no ring.

So, when we are ready to get rid of the couch, he can tear it apart.

I'm not Catholic, but "Tony" & I are on a first-name basis.

Tony, Tony look around.
What was lost must be found.
Yaaay, Tony!

Hope you find it,
agnes!

Good thoughts coming your way...hope he finds it!

My DH can't wear his to work now so he wears it on a chain around his neck....

my dh lost his first wedding ring. it was an awesome antique diamond ring that i got an great deal on. when we moved out of the house it was lost in, i thought it was gone forever and that someday there would be a great surprise for an unsuspecting homeowner.

so we replaced it with another diamond ring that he picked himself.

and not long after i found his original ring at a pawn shop!! i knew it was his cause one of the side diamonds had a tiny chip on it. i guess someone stole it while they were in my house :guilty:

i ended up paying more then double the second time around...

Holy Nikes, Batman! Are you serious?! That's absolutely unreal. I can't believe you found it at a pawn shop. I only wish I could call the pawn shops around here- all 5,000 of them!

I like to believe the best about people, but some people truly have no morals or consideration for their fellow man. Stole it out of your house?! We had some bad showings when the house was for sale (nosey neighbors), but come on. Argh, that just gets my panties in a bunch.

I keep hoping that because it is so obviously a wedding band, if someone does find it, they'd turn it in. Makes me wonder about having a phone number engraved instead of the sentimental stuff... :confused3

I figured we'd make it more than 8 months before one went missing!

I hope his ring turns up......sometimes they do, so keep looking!

3 months after my husband and I married, we were watching fireworks on the the beach with his family. We were sitting on a blanket and DH used to "play" with his ring sometimes because he wasn't used to it, so he'd take it off and on. Well we came home from the fireworks and 30 minutes later he said to me "Where did you put my wedding ring"....Doh - he took it off on the beach and put it on the blanket. We lived at the beach at the time, so we went back up there and forget even trying to look around in piles of sand at 10 pm at night- they had the sand rakes coming through also so we knew it was lost for good. He went out the next day and bought the same ring.

I know it's not the same thing, but we did have it blessed. Sometimes when we're joking around i'll tease about it, but I know to this day he was so upset he lost it. Oh well, things happen, right.

Good luck, hope he finds it.

My DH is on his third wedding band. I still have the original, 28 years later!

I bought my DH an engagement ring when we became engaged. It was a nice ring but no diamond or anything was in it. He wore it on his right hand until he went skiing one day. Sometime during the day between the cold and taking on and off his gloves it fell off into the snow. There was no chance he would find it somewhere in the snow all over the resort. So I hope that someone who liked it picked it up and used it. He now has a wedding ring that so far he has not lost but then, I make him take it off when we do anything in water or snow.
