DS2.5 is 40 inches tall. He is currently 36.5. Dh wants to do it this way so we can go on more rides together. When did your DC hit 40 inches?

My son was exactly 40" when we were there -- he was 3.5. He's 4.5 now and is 42". My daughter just turned 2 and she is 36". I was hoping she would be 40" when we go in December but I just don't think it's going to happen.

DD8, who is quite tall, was 40" (maybe a hair over) at 2y 11m. We went in Dec. 2000 and she was able to ride the 40" rides, but did get measured occasionally.

My DS was 39 inches when we went in October (2 years 10 months), he just missed riding the 40" rides. We go back in October and I have no doubts he will be over 40".

I'm not sure when they hit the 40 inch mark, but I know my DD was well over 40 inches when we took her at 3 years 7 months (she was probably around 42 inches at this point). And my DS was over 40 this past summer at 3 years 3 months when we went back (he was around 41 inches). My little one is only a year old so time will tell. My kids tend to be on the tall side though.

Keep in mind though, that just because they hit that 40 inch mark, if they are close sometimes they can't ride because the ride's measurer is off. Also, the child may not want to ride the ride. My DS is a little daredevil and yet we took him on soarin' which I thought was a very mild ride and he hated it! He screamed the whole way through! I still can't understand why because he liked splash mountain and big thunder. So, while I can understand wanting to wait for the 40 inch mark, keep in mind that your little one may decide he's not going on the bigger rides anyway, lol!

HI,

I think to give you a better idea of when your ds might reach the magic 40" mark, you should ask how long it took for other posters children to grow from 36.5" to 40", not necessarily their age at that height.

My boys are off the charts height wise & dd is right in the middle. It took ds 13 months to go from 36.5" to 40" and dd took 18 months to grow the same amount. My other ds is 37" now.

If your ds is tall for his age & seems to grow fast I would think it is possible he will grow that much in a year...or just a bit longer.

I know that all kids are different. I just want to start to plan. I love the planning part of it all. So I am thinking maybe we will have to wait till 2007. But not too bad considereing we were just there in October.
