DH is going Crazy!

Well, we have a 10 day trip to WDW planned for late December 2006. (WDW dates are 12/16-12/26) Now, DH wants to add 4 days at the beginning of the trip to go to Universal/IOA. (12/12-12/16) I haven't been to Universal since I was a kid...and have NO IDEA what I'm doing!

We looked into the Kids, Stay, Play, and Eat for Free deal, and for four days, with Myself, DH, and 3 kids we can stay, have tickets for all 5 of us for 1100-1300, depending on which hotel. Is this a good deal?? We are leaning toward the HRH, which would be 1300 for 4 nights, length of stay tickets (they are really for 5 consecutive days w/hopping), and 2 of the kids would get free dining.

Any help you guys can offer would be GREATLY appreciated!!

With that much time, and staying onsite, you really don't need to plan.

Just reading these boards during the year will be enough.

But there is one thing many will tell you right off the bat. Switch your dates around so you visit Universal at the end of your trip. Once you try FOTL, you'll be spoiled. So visit Disney first, then Universal.

For the 12/12-12/16 dates, the following AAA rates are available for a standard room at each of the hotels:

PBH $924 for 4 nights incl. tax
HRH $817 for 4 nights incl. tax
RPR $710 for 4 nights incl. tax

If you need adult tickets for all 5 of you, the cost for the buy 2 get 3 free is $530 incl. tax. If any of your kids are under 10, you will save $106 for each kid under 10 since you would be able to get a free kid ticket with each adult ticket.

So, assuming that you need 5 adult tickets, and you have a AAA membership at the time of your trip, you can expect to pay

PBH $1454
HRH $1347
RPR $1240

I don't think you'd get the kids eat free if you bought these items seperately. Assuming that your kids are all over 9, sounds like you've got a good deal. Go for it!
