some good appetizer suggestions. He wants to graze all day LOL. I am OK with it, I think it should be easier then making a big sit down dinner and then cleaning everything up afterward.

Thanks for any suggestions.

My kids like pigs in a blanket made with crescent rolls. We also do chips with cheese sauce(Velveeta, salsa, hamburger). Mini tacos are really convenient. A veggie tray, ,cheese/crackers homemade chex mix.

We've been doing this for a few years now, it's easier, and it keeps everyone happy. How about kielbasa, pierogies, buffalo wings (take out, baby!), potato skins, pot stickers (frozen), pita/hummus, cucumber and tomato salad, pizza, piggies in a blanket (the hotdog kind), bagel bites... It's not super "Christmassy," but it's food that we all like.

HTH!

Sam's Club has a lot of frozen appetizers that you just bake in the oven.

We usually do appetizers for Christmas Eve, although this year we're trying a soup/salad/bread approach. We'll be saving the appetizers for NYE. This is a favorite in our house: Antipasto Kabobs

also these: Sausage Pinwheels although we prefer to use italian sausage and top them with a bit of parmesan cheese before baking.

Ham with assorted breads, cheeses and salads. We graze for a couple days on this assortment.

At our family gatherings we tend to graze all day too, so that by the time the food is ready we're almost full :lmao: In our house Chip and salsa or a 7-layer dip are always well received. How about deviled eggs?

For Christmas Eve we just do appetizers and graze all night.

Some things I usually serve:
cheese fondue w/french bread
peel & eat shrimp
meatballs
veggies & dip
ham appetillas

And lots of desserts! :thumbsup2

I am going to do both for Christmas Eve...they sound wonderful! Thanks for the links...:hippie:

shrimp is always easy. Pre cooked ham is easy for sandwiches we do small ones use rolls for buns.

Of course, that should have been "sit" down dinner :rolleyes1

Thanks for the suggestions!

I am going to use a few of the ideas above!!

DH wants either wings or shrimp.

One daughter wants donuts, the other wants lettuce wraps :)

I might make sausage balls - someone brought them in to our work pot luck but they had appeared to be sitting out a long time so I wouldn't eat one - craving them now! I wonder if they work with turkey sausage?

I am making a Roast Beef on Christmas Eve for our dinner and then on Christmas we are doing a little buffet with:

Roast Beef Sandwiches
Finger sandwiches of Egg Salad, Ham Salad and Tuna
Tri Color Pasta with italian dressing
Veggie Tray
Pigs in a Blanket
Port Wine Cheeseball with crackers
Swedish Meatballs
Candied Hotdogs (this is what my mom calls it but it is that mini hotdogs with grape jelly and chili sauce..yum!)

:)

We usually have the same things every year at our family get together on Christmas Eve.

Shrimp
Deviled Eggs
Salad
Bakery Pizza
Pigs in a Blanket
Baked Beans
Spiral Ham
Pork Pies
Lunch Meat with mini rolls
Sweedish Meatballs (put 2lb bag frozen meatballs and add about 4 cans of Campbell's Beef Gravy into crockpot)
Kielbasa in Grape Jelly & Chili Sauce (in crockpot)
Olives (green/black)
Pickles
Chips

Assorted pastries

What are pork pies

a nice desert that works for finger food is mini pumpkin pies, and their not difficult to make. plus is perfect for Christmas. There are a lot of recipes for this when you google it.

What are pork pies
They are also called tourtieres, which are Canadian meat pies. I've never made one, but my Mom mixes ground pork and hamburg, potatoes (kind of mashed) and seasonings and puts it in a pie crust. We usually put ketchup on it.

Maybe a Canadian Diser can give a better description of the ingredients?

Sliders. They're easy once you figure out what type to do.

What about a stromboli or 2. They're not that difficult to prep.
