Dh got the monster code and . . .

Dh got the monster code in the mail and he never does anything on the Disney site.

Once, two years ago, when I was having trouble logging in, I just decided to set up an account in his name. He gets more Disney e-mails than I do! (Forwards them all to me.) And neither he nor I ever access his Disney account. He doesn't have any vacations saved, he hasn't logged in since the day I signed him up. And yet HE gets the monster code in the mail. Go figure that one!

Me, I've got five vacations saved, I edit them every few weeks, and I still can't generate a code for myself. And our two Disney vacations were both booked in my name, not dh's. So tell me, why did he get the code?

We can't use the code any way (which I knew, just wanted to get one!) as we aren't going to FL again until our dog dies (a decision made after our last trip). Also, dh's mom is currently in our home under hospice care (but is actually getting better instead of declining!) and we wouldn't be at peace with leaving her for an extended period of time

Hopefully we will be going in 2012 for our 35th anniversary.

I don't know if you meant it this way, but you might want to re-word what you put....you kind of sound ticked off that your dog and your MIL haven't died yet so you can go on vacation......

My DH got the code today, and he NEVER NEVER NEVER does anything Disney. I plan, book, pay for all of our trips. DH doesn't even use the computer to do anything but get emails from his brother. That's it. He doesn't sign up for anything online, ever.

We are really blessed to have mil with us, I wouldn't want her any other place. She and I have always gotten along well and getting to hear stories of her childhood that possibly she's never told any one else has been really special for me. But we haven't had a break and I haven't had a good night's sleep since she moved in -- up every 90 minutes some nights. I've asked people to relieve dh and I for just one night (we'd go to a local hotel to sleep uninterrupted) but no one is willing. I'm facing burnout, asking for help, and it is falling on deaf ears. I've dealt with a disabled dh since 1995 and now I have dmil to care for also. There are some days when, honestly, I just want to run away. Maybe that frustration came through, and I'm sorry. (And yes, we do hire an agency several hours a week -- but getting out to run errands and do grocery shopping isn't exactly getting a break.)

As for the dog, well, we had to cut our last trip to FL short by one day because dh missed the beagle. I'll miss her when she's gone, but my life doesn't revolve around her. But she's been his faithful companion since she came to us in 1998 (dd found her in a creek), so I guess I can understand his attachment to her. I made the decision after our last trip that there would not be another Disney trip until the beagle died.

you truly sound like you need a break !! maybe you can give yourself a gift and go have a nice spa day....treat yourself to something special just for you !! I'm so sorry that you're having to go through this without alot of help. I wish you all the best !!! (but do be good to yourself..... )

It was a postcard/pamphlet that advertises "Monster Savings on a Disney resort stay." Save 40% for certain dates Sept - December 18. hth!

The Monster code is 40% off ANY Disney hotel, values, mods, deluxes, etc. The dates it is good for are very limited though.

I haven't gotten one, I did get the white rabbit one and am currently using that one, I've seen the dates for Monster code and it wouldn't work for me, plus we're booked AKL and the discount is still the same as white rabbit code but if you are staying value or mod then it's great!

OP: I hope you get the break you need! You sound like a really caring person and hopefully someone will give you a hand soon.

The paperwork is design around a "Monsters, Inc." theme with different doors showing bits of information. Very cute.

I know what you are going through. We are in a similar situation with my in laws. We will be praying for you.

As to the code.. maybe it is just WDW's way of trying to get your DH to book something. Maybe they figure since he has never booked online, maybe he has never gone.

By the way, I got the monster code yesterday as well, but I'm still paying on the last trip so there is no way I can turn around and use it for another trip this year. If tickets weren't so expensive, it wouldn't be too bad.

Hello...many of you say you book numerous intinereries to possibbly get a pin....is this through Disney Detinations?.....also some have said that they make plans to stay off site and are sent pins to intice them...where do you book THESE intiereries???? We are planning for 12/1-12-7...2 adults only....

Just thought that I would chime in too that dw got the Monster Pin in the mail yesterday. She's never registered an account or booked anything, but the happy dance that me and the kids did in the kitchen made it not matter. Maybe I'll get the next one.

I got the Monster pin code in the mail today. For some reason, I get these pin codes all the time. The dates are pretty limited for this one, probably won't be able to use it. I am still hoping to be able to book a last minute summer trip. We will probably be going in December again, if DD10's cheer squad makes it to Nationals like we did last year. That may be my only hope for a Disney trip this year.

Dh wasn't at all surprised when I smacked him with the monster mailing. I do all of the work and he gets *ALL* of the pins. Honestly, he could care less about all of my Disney planning insanity, but he knows how annoyed I am that he gets rewarded for his apathy and he always has to rub it in!

I have never gotten a pin code after 22 trips, multiple planning video requests, saved offers, etc...

Well one came in the mail today. I was so excited, until I realized it was addressed to my mother-in-law, who lives 100 miles away and hasn't been to Disney in 6 years, and I'm sure is not registered on the Disney Website

Luckily I booked bounceback when we were at WDW this past weekend.
