Yesterday, while at work, my husband was using a cordless drill to repair something. Nothing unusual for him. Well, the drill slipped at went into his left wrist...while still running!
There was a lot of blood and he instantly lost feeling in parts of his hand. They sent him off to the ER. The wound itself didn't look too bad. Just a drill hole. They patched him up, set up an appointment with the workman's comp dr for today and sent him home. He only had his wrist bandaged. Well, he is now home from that doctor's visit. They called in a specialist to check him out. The doctor said that when he checked his exray, he noticed that the drill tip actually chipped the bone!! (I guess that is when the drill bit broke!). He poked at his hand and fingers and there is still loss of feeling. He is hoping that it is just from the swelling in his wrist and not nerve damage. DH's little bandage has been replaced by a cast up to his elbow!!
The doctor wants to be sure that he doesn't move it til he goes back on Tuesday. If, when the swelling goes down, the hand is still numb, he needs surgery!
If you can find it in your hearts, please send some healing pixie dust for him (and some patience pixie dust for me!
)!!
