Apparently, I am driving my DH crazy with Disney stuff. I am planning our first trip to Disney World. I will be 39 years old when we go later this year, and have wanted to go since I was very little. I tried to talk DH into going for our honeymoon 8 years ago, but he refused. :sad2: I should have known something was wrong with him then. Who refuses to go to Disney World?? :confused3

DD and I are so excited we can hardly stand it. DS doesn't really understand we are going, but he knows every characters name. I am spending a lot of time planning, and making stuff (autograph books, passport books, journals, activities for the ride, making shirts/dresses, etc.). Anyway, I asked DH a question about something, and DH told me I was banned from anything Disney until September!! :rotfl2: Good luck with that, honey! :rotfl:

Have a terrific trip! I'm kind of jealous that you still get to experience it all for the first time :).

My dh sounds like yours, I feel like he cringes inside anytime I ask for his opinion. :) Our first Disney trip is in September! Have fun!!!

I can get over zealous too. I try not to get too crazy when DH is around but I learned this after 9 trips with him:wizard:

My DH has a low Disney threshold, too. (How odd!) He's been a good sport and gone a couple of times, but usually it's just the kids and me who make the voyage.

Has your DH been to WDW before? Maybe he'll "get it" once he goes! Hope you have a great time planning "in secret"...:rotfl:

Just leave him be and come here to plan. I bet that he'll enjoy it once he gets there but some people just aren't planners.

DH has been there. The only reason we are going now is because he realized his time is up - and his mom is paying for it! I couldn't wait any longer. He is being a good sport, and he knows I am just excited. I am trying to plan stuff he will enjoy also... Dine with an Imagineer, an evening in Epcot with just the two of us (MIL is coming also so she can watch the kids), etc. I know he will have fun. I'm just going to have a plan quietly for a while so he isn't burnt out before we get there!

My DH was that way until we actually went to Disney! Now we chat a bit. He knows I'm obsessing about Disney, but I don't discuss it with him in excess - just a little every now and again.

Of course, so long as I get a kewl Disney vacation, I can't say anything about his hunting club. :lmao: So as long as I listen to stories about deer, ducks, fish and squirrels, he kinda' has to listen to how we should plan our days out at WDW.

Mine tried the banning thing too but it didn't work out that well! :rotfl: Enjoy your planning and your first trip!!

I totally sent my DH on a Disney overload planning our first trip back in 2006. He was sick of Disney before we even got there. I am even more obsessed with Disney now then I was then, it just keeps getting worse, but DH lets me have it, just not around him. I still now and again get over excited and spew Disney all over him, but he'll get over it and so will your DH.

Have a great trip. I wish I could experience Disney for the first time again.

The part I put in red above really made me LOL!!! That would be a great tag.

My DH felt the same way - didn't want to hear about it, or make any decisions (which was fine, I loved doing all the planning). He couldn't understand the need to do all the planning in the first place - until we got there. Then he kept thanking me for all the research, the time and effort I put into it so that we didn't stand in hour long lines, we had ADR's, we knew where we were going, etc, etc (or blah, blah blah as it was known pre trip :lmao:). The second trip - he still didn't want to hear about it but he didn't make sure to ask if I was going to make sure everything was going to run as smoothly as it did the first time - "Yes Dear, I'll see what I can do".

So I come here to read about others who are in the same situation and realize that there's a whole community of us out there. That's why we "Dis"

After dating someone who did not love Disney the way I did, it was actually a requirement for future relationships! I was lucky enough to find my wife, a former CM from DL whose mom still works At Disneyland (and has for 23 years)!

I even planned my disney wedding and honeymoon before I met her! If she did not fit into the plans, then she was not the woman for me! :rotfl:

I live with multiple physical disabilities, and Disney is the one place where I can do EVERYTHING with my family like NORMAL people (or as close to normal as we get). Everything is accessible, everything is open, the CMs are all accepting and helpful. It really is a magical land for me! It is a place without sickness, pain, doctors, and reality.

Once I explain that to people, no one makes fun of my love of Disney anymore!

I´m so glad you get to go to Disney, finally! Have a magical trip and lots of fun planning. I´m sure your DH will love it too!

My DH knows better than to try and ban me from Disney - LOL.

Hope you have a Great Trip!

Welcome to the dis, and I am hoping that your husband comes around. My husband :love:s WDW and when we head back in November, he is the one who will put together the planning part of it:yay:! He is so into it and I am so blessed to have him:lovestruc
