The Scrapbook Pad in Colleyville is now closed. Does anyone know what the situation there is? All of their merchandise is still on the shelves, but the sign on the door says the same thing as their website: We are now closed. Thank you for your patronage. Any info???

Haven't heard anything yet - but I'd sure like to see Archiver's go in!

Today I went over to the Scrapbook Barn in Dallas on Trinity Mills because I was looking for some specific cardstock. I was not really impressed. It was ok, but I got 14 sheets of cardstock for $9. Their cardstock selection was no where near what Scrapbook Pad had--it was closer to the selection of Joanns in Grapevine. :sad2: I am so disappointed! Anyway, the lady there knew that Pad had closed, but said everything was hush-hush and no one knew anything. I sure hope someone will take it over!

I heard via the rumor mill that they told the staff Sunday and were locked up immediately after and that no merchandise can move right now. Very sad!

Does anyone know of LSS's in Fort Worth?

Well .... "local" is a relative term these days!

There's one in Weatherford, 2 in Waxahachie, 1 in Burleson.
That's about as close to Fort Worth as they are.
Sad, huh?

I just joined the Cricut Club last week and was really looking forward to taking another one. :sad2:

Although that does explain the 25% sale on everything in stock all last weekend...

Well, I couldn't stand it anymore so I emailed the contact person to see if they would give out any additional information--like WHY all the mdse is still sitting on the shelves. :confused3 I'll let you all know if I get a response.

Sidenote to Pixiedust: Burleson, Waxahachie, and Weatherford might as well be Los Angeles, New York, and Omaha! :rotfl: I've got five kids and have to run to the scrap store while they are in school. Heck, I won't even drive to the Michaels over on 377! I am "directionally challenged".

Thanks for that list.. unfortunately living in Keller doesn't make the trip easy to any of those. We're hoping someone opens another store in our area fast!

I know - they seem like "a land far, far away!!!" I just found one in Decatur, too. That's just up 287 from Keller area (I'm near there, too!)

Waxahachie is an easy day trip. Several (well, 6) of us went one day.
We left about 9a and were back before school got out at 3p. And enjoyed a nice lunch at The Dove's Nest. Gotta do that again before summer!
(Darn kids! lol! Let's hear it for year-round school!)

Some of us have been contacting Archivers to see if they might open in the area. Here is a link if you want to contact them

I prefer the local based stores but they are all closing quickly and I worry we won't have anywhere to shop that is just for scrapbooking (JoAnn's and Michael's are always going to focus on the broader craft market).

I sent Archivers an email. I've heard that they've been looking around the Frisco area. Growl ....

Chipscinderelly, I will PM you a possible source for classes & crops.

FRISCO - ugh!! Sorry our friends in the north :)

Thanks for the PM - that's a great source

Chips -

You're VERY welcome for the PM info!
Also - I'm the owner of a private Yahoo group for scrappers/crafters in our area. We started it when Recollections announced it was closing (November). There are now over 150 of us. We share ideas, crop & class locations, do group buys, and encourage each other since we have no LSS.

I'd love to invite you & your friends to join us. If y'all are interested,
I just need email addresses & names to do so!
