United has (connecting) flights for $123 ($142 w/taxes) for all the way out thru next June.

I'd spend an hour in Charlotte to save big bucks!

Hope someone can take advantage of this....

I know what you mean about the one hour in Charlotte!

I'm so tempted to just click and book. The only thing is I HATE HATE HATE to fly, so I don't know if I want to sit through another take off and landing if I don't have to.

When you have a lay over like that, do you get off the plane ever or do you stay on the same one? I've only flown twice and both were direct flights.

After seeing airfare for my travel dates hover for around 4 months at $ 250 plus, I would most DEFINITELY "suffer" a layover of a liitle over an hour. Now if the layover was to be over 3 hours, then I might hesitate to grab the rate.. I say go for it !

Last night on Travelocity and United the fares were $113.00/RT, I had to wait until this morning to book and they are back up to $283.00/RT, I'M SO MAD!!!!!!!

Check again, dturner, I just saw them at $113 on travelocity!

I have, I check every hour or so, it does say $113.00 but when you choose your dates (and I've put in a lot of different dates) it's no where near $113.00, I haven't found any dates this morning for that fare, last night, yea they all were $113.00, this morning, nothing, nada, and I'm still mad, sitting here at work just fumming. You'd think with the new report out this morning regarding more airplane hijackings possible in the next couple of months - the airlines would be decreasing not increasing fares.

Just checked again - they are defintely gone - Travelocity doesn't even show the $113.00 rate anymore - POO!! missed it by hours, may have to cancel trip now unless Delta or American go down in the next couple of weeks.

Fascinating....Just after I mailed you, I started checking dates at that $113 fare....At 1:00, it just disappeared! United must have had a great response.

Before 9/11, I got that great $92 fare at the end of July. (July 26, 2001 to be exact) End of July must be a good time to catch deals.

Take care....

CBR - in answer to your question, it looks like the United flights thru Charlotte would have required a change of planes. Some flights you can stay on the plane, but I think those are differentiated by being called "stops" instead of "connections". (No expert, here, just an observation)

Last year at this time I got a $137.00/RT Nonstop on Delta for mid-September, haven't seen anything that low on Delta or American yet this year (been checking since April), guess I'll keep my fingers crossed for some lower fares in the next couple of weeks.
