DFTW Room rate question

Hi All,

This may have been covered before so forgive me. But we just decided to add 3 days onto the beginning of our stay. I already made our room ressies for the wedding. Now because this additional time occurs 4 days before our room block what I'm wondering is would we still be eligible for the DFTW discount price? If so would I have to go through group reservations or my wedding planner since it's technically starting before the room block? Also I'm trying to decide if the price I get through DFTW would be better then if we tried to use our AP's to get a discount, went through AAA, or my Visa? If we do go the AP rate does that mean we have to wait until July when we activate the wedding AP's we got from DFTW? TIA for any help.

I can tell you that as far as the room block goes, they allow you to book at the discounted rate 5 days before the block starts, and 5 days after the room block ends. I believe that the DFTW rates are better than an AP discount. HTH!

I would call my planner first. One of my bridesmaids wants to stay at the WL and this is not in our room block. I called my planner and was able to get her a discounted rate. Another guest wants to stay at AKL which is also not in our room block and I was able to get discounted rates for her also. I believe your planner can add the earlier days to your room block. Then you will have to call group reservations to reserve it. Let us know what happens.

The DFTW room discount is about 30% for Deluxes, 15% for Moderates and 10% for Values. Sometimes the AP discounts can be up to 40% off regular rates, but often that price isn't available where you want to stay or in the room category you want.

If you do decide to use the AP discount, you don't have to have active passes until you check in, so you can book it whenever it becomes available. :thumbsup2

I would def call the planner. They will know best, bust as stated above, you wouldn't need your AP's until you checked in. However, AP discounts can be hard to come by, and DFTW discounts are guaranteed once you clear it with you planner. :)

OK thanks all just wanted to check before I went to Meri vs going to group reservations didn't want to waste her time if I didn't have to I'm sure she's busy enough. I'll email her tomorrow I guess.

Meri is my planner also and both her and her assistant Alix helped me getting rooms. Alix is on vacation next week but I am sure Meri will help you. She has been so helpful to us.
