I'm new to this whole thing and I'm aching to get some details on how this works. I've been to the site and played around with the wedding planner but my "window" isn't open yet. I'm looking at the middle package (the Escape one, I think) and I'm wondering if anything can be done a la carte?

What if I want to provide my own flowers? Can that be taken off the bill?

How do you handle rehearsal and a reception? I'm not going to be able to get down there prior to the wedding so it will all have to be handled via phone/e-mail.

How does the cake and champagne work after the ceremony? Is it right there at the site or at a place I designate?

I'm so confused and chomping at the bit to get this all started.

I don't want to speak to the Escape package, as I was a Wishes bride and there's plenty of other Escape brides who I'm sure will chime in with their experiences, but I'd like to recommend the Passporter's Disney Wedding and Honeymoon Guide (http://passporter.com/weddings.asp) which is a pretty phenomenal resource especially if you're too early out to start planning formally with Disney. Again, I haven't read the Escape sections myself since they didn't pertain to me at the time of my planning, but I know the answer to some of your questions is in there!

Another resource you might find helpful is the numerous interviews I've done with Escape brides who describe exactly how the day works: http://disneyweddingpodcast.com/category/walt-disney-world/escape-collection/

You can't get credit for removing things from the package but they will let you do some swaps—just not for the bouquet. The cake and Champagne reception happens at the site, off to the side, directly after the ceremony. The photos in those podcast posts will give you an idea. You can make your own restaurant reservation or work with Disney's Fairy tale Weddings to plan a 2-hour catered event following the ceremony.

Unless it's really hot. I was married in August at the Yatch club gazebo and due to the heat they moved our cake cutting into a private (ish) room at the Yatch Club

Right, same with rain. You'll be moved to the nearest convention center (though occasionally Sea Breeze Point brides luck out and get The Attic)!

Oh I hope that's what happens for me if they decide to move me inside!
