This report is comming to an end. Its christmas morning and we spent it opening gifts.
When we decided it was time to start getting ready, we had no water pressure. Just a small trickle. Definetly not enough to shower with. Remember that flooded 300 loop? Yeh, thats the culprit. We decide to walk acrossed the street to the comfort station, along with everyone else staying in the 100/200 loops. Had to wait for 15 min to get a shower.
On our way, we noticed the Disney popo had the road blocked so no one could go down towards the 300 loop.
By the time we got back to the camper, we had no water. This sucks, we were supposed to meet at vacampers site for lunch and its hard to make mash taters with no water. So the DW goes off in search of water while I call the front desk.
There was a rumor that Disney was handing out bottles of water to accomandate the guests. By the time she made it to the location, all of the water was gone. Luckily, the very very very very nice Disney popo who was blocking the street saw our plight and had an extra bottle of water he gave us. It was one of those large gallon bottles too. Lunc was saved, and returned the favor by giving the popo some christmas cookies.
Meanwhile, on the phone I was assured the water would be back on in 15 mins and that a manger would call us back. (keep this in mind)
I decided to see what was going on for myself. It gave me a cahnce to try out one of my christmas presents, a Tamron 70-300 zoom lense for my camera. This is what I saw.
It looks to me like the popo is doing ballet. But they clearly have the road tore up working on the water main.
So, off to lunch.
We meet up at vacampers site for a great lunch. Ham, chicken, mashed taters, mac n cheese, the whole spread. Born 2 Fish and wife were there as well. Great, I get to meet more fiends.
We ate, and chatted. The kids (who became instant friends) ran off to partake in the Forts scavanger hunt. They came in 3rd place. We decided to read the clues and see if we could win without ever leaving the site. We got all but one correct with just our superior knowledge, and didnt even break a sweat.
The kids ran off to swim for a bit and DW and I grabbed some dinner.
Later, we decided to head over to the campfire for the movie. Tonight was a Muppets Christmas Carol. Every year we watch this movie on Christmas, so it was fitting that they played it.
It was a bit cold and windy, but some hot coco and popcorn warmed us right up.
Then we were off to the beach for Holiday Wishes. Not as good as castleguys display, but would have to do. So, the pictures will end, as always, with some fireworks.
After the fireworks. We settle in for the night. Just as we get home, the skies open up and the rain rolls in. As we are sitting there, listening to the rain, DW asks "Did a manger ever call you back?". Come to think of it, no, they did not. So now she is mad.
We turn in for the last night at the Fort. Tommorow we make the long drive back home.
In the morning, DW and DD17 take the GC back to turn it in while DD14 and I prep the camper. DWs car was parked in the overflow all weekend, so she left straight from there.
Little did I know she stopped by the front desk to give them a piece of her mind. She was more mad about the manager never contacting us and let it all out. Poor girl didnt know what was comming. Disney was nice, or the manager wanted to save face, and gave us one night free for our troubles.
The drive home was uneventful.
And there you have it. You just spent 6 days with us. I hope it was as fun for you as it was for us.
