Developer Points

Does anyone know how long it should take to reserve a room using developer points? I made a reservation using developer points on Jan. 4 and they still haven't processed the reservation. They are supposed to email me the confirmation once the reservation is made and still nothing. Does this seem like a long time? When I made the reservation I was told it could take up to 7 days for them to make the reservation and up to 14 days to receive the confirmation if they were to mail it. When I called at the 7 day mark, I was told it could take from 7-10 days and when I called yesterday(the 10 day mark) I was told now it was 7-14 days! Anyone out there who has made a reservation lately using developer points? I made a reservation on 12/31 and I received the email confirmation in 4 days. What's up?

I made reservations for an April stay at SSR back in Spetember, when we first started the process, and never received a confirmation.

Then I booked a trip for March on Jan 2, and still have received nothing.

I called MS today and asked for confirmations to be sent to me by email. They told me it would take at least 72 hours. Hopefully something will come soon.

Both ressies show in their system (but not for me on the website as they were booked with DPs) so I know that they are there. I just want paper in hand.....

We are also still waiting. Our ressies show in the system, and MS says to be patient, so we are trying to be, but it does make us nervous.

I used developer points to book a stay in California, I was also told that I would receive the confirmation by email, never happened but I did get one by snail mail about a month later.

I called today and I still don't have a confirmation #. They still haven't processed the reservation. They must be really behind as it's now been 2 weeks. I was told though they have started working on them though. Let's hope I get an email soon.

The reason for my anxiousness is I rented my developer points(this is the first and only time I will ever rent)and I am afraid that the person I rented to will think I am scamming them because I haven't gotten the confirmation yet. We got the developer points when I purchased BLT and we already had 2 trips, one to Disney and another to the Dominican Republic, and I couldn't use the points which had to be used before 10/3.

OK-so when I go to use my DP I am not told right away wheather I have the reservation booked or not? Is that correct? I want to try and get a Treehouse Villa for September using most of my DP and teh reservation needs made when they open up the booking process not wait until they can get to it. Please tell me I have this info incorrect.

We booked with our DP a few weeks ago for a trip in June for a stay at SS. We considered trying for the treehouse villas when we talked about that stay. We were discussing going ahead and booking SS and then changing to the TV when that booking window became open. That way we had a backup. That being said, we DO have an actual reservation, and have even confirmed it with MS a second time and they can "see" it, we just don't have any email or paper confirmation. They assure me that the email confirmation will be coming and even read out my email address to me.

Sweet so reservations are made just like the current process for DVC members but the confirmations are MIA-correct?

I booked on December 21 for a July 21 reservation at SSR on developer points. I had my confirmation email the next day.

Kind of! I think that what they do is make the initial reservation under the developer and then manually switch it over. So I actually have a reservation, just not a confirmation # until the reservation is actually put under my name. Normally, it doesn't take this long but I guess they are getting a ton of DP reservations and are really backed up. And normally, I wouldn't worry or stress at all but I have a feeling the person I made the reservation for is probably concerned. I am hoping for a confirmation tomorrow! I was told by MS that as soon as it's put in the system the email is sent instantly.

I made a reservation on January 16th and haven't gotten confirmation yet. What was the total number of days for you (from ressie to confirmation).

We finally got our confirmation on the 20th of Jan. but only after fortunately having a supervisor who was helping out with calls that day, get my call. She placed me on hold and then had the person who does the DP reservations do it while I was on the phone with her. So overall, it took 16 days. It would have been longer if I hadn't been lucky with who answered the phone at MS that day. In the end, the long time it took ended up creating a huge mess and I am still waiting for payment from my renter.

We made reservations for SSR using our DP on 1/22 (for June). We had just put a deposit down the day before. The CM stressed a few times...You DO have a room booked, you CAN start planning your trip. She told us we would get our Conf # in 2 to 3 weeks, and she asked if I wanted to receive it by mail or email. i asked for email. So I guess I have about 2 weeks left to wait and see if we get it or not.

Now, I DID call MS or QA(whatever was listed on our folder we got with our contract) the CM told me she saw our DP reservation (I had told her we made them already and she said "oh, yes, I see that here").

same here & I do find it very annoying. I don't get why it's so difficult to recieve a confirmation.
