Hey folks. So I'm looking at the 'Enhanced Vacation Option Agreement' document that is part of all the paperwork received in our purchase package. This document deals with the Developer Points specifically.

What exactly does this means?

"All reservations utilizing Developer Points must be booked within the seven (7) month booking window and stays must be completed within 12 months of the Contract Date of October 22, 2007. Disney Cruise Line and Interval International vacations are exempt. These vacations can be booked according to normal booking guidelines and are not restricted to the 7 month booking window"

Am I understanding this right... you can book Disney Cruise at 11 months out using Developer points?

I thought your DVC Home resort was the only place you could use the 11 Month booking advantage?

Thanks for the info.

It is saying you can NOT us DP for DCL or Interval International vacations. You can only use the DP for stays inside the 7 month mark at one of the 7 DVC resorts.

We used our developer points for a Disney Cruise. We booked it in mid- Sept. which is when we did our add-on at SSR. We have a Jan. 3rd sail date.

I think that it is saying that you can book DCL without waiting for a 7 month mark. With "normal" points you can book DCL quite far in advance and this same rule should apply to the developer points. I may have this wrong but I know for sure that you can use the DPs for the cruise as we did. It was a simple process but it did take a little extra time on the phone with MS.

Do be careful about the cancellation policies for DCL and points as you could easily loose quite a few points if you had to cancel.

REALLY!!!! Just another reason why I changed guides. My old guide said that they couldn't be used for anything but DVC resorts. Sorry to the OP for MY mistake, Thanks global_mom for the correction. :thumbsup2

We switched guides back in Sept. and things have been much smoother since then. Its amazing how such different info. can come from guides that all work in the same place!! :confused3

We probably would not have done our add-on when we did it if we could not have used the DPs for the cruise. We wanted to do something "different" with the points as we already had 4 trips planned to WDW DVC resorts. :goodvibes

Excellent day to all!

We booked our cruise with Developer points as well. DV points don't show up in your profile though, so they are dealt with internally. This process was so smooth as we had already booked our cruise with cash, so we called up MS after we realized we should add-on @ AK and put the cash cruise money towards that purchase :thumbsup2 . They were fabulous as MS was able to get DCL to keep everything as is: same ressie number, cabin, etc. It was great! All they had to do was take those developer points for cruise, as rest of our ressie for our 8 nights @ AKV was being taken from regular points, and DCL then credited us back our deposit. We just had to pay our exchange fee to MS for the cruise, and it was all set.

It was an easy process that's for sure!! Tiger :)

No problem at all Pennyguy, and thanks to all for the information, I greatly appreciate it.
