"Detroit has never sounded so sexy!" A mother/daughter February 2012 NEW TR LINK

Great last couple of updates! It is so awesome that you got to see the Lion up and around! The best I ever saw was him lying down with his head up and that was years ago, I didn't even see him at all last trip.

I love the trails, too. The bats...not so much! LOL I really wanted to see the Tigers and Gorillas (and Lilly!) on our last trip but, of course we didn't do the trails that time either.

Awesome pics from Everest! I got that broken track pic too!

Glad you're all caught up :)
That was the first time we'd ever gotten a good view of the lion so it was a treat!

The trails are great if you have time to go at a slow pace and really take everything in. Too often we're in a rush to see and do everything that we skip them so we were really glad we did it.

thank you :)

It's time to get this TR finished so we will be doing two updates a week until that happens :thumbsup2 We have another Disney vacation coming up (for me) in 35 days!!!!

When we last left off we were heading to lunch our lunch destination was Yak and Yeti!

We had, had so many reservations for here in the past that got canceled and it was about time we ACTUALLY ate there!

disneyday6836.jpg

The decor is awesome! The idea is that a family turned their home into a hotel and once you hear that the details are very noticeable!

disneyday6856.jpg

disneyday6855.jpg

The bigger the picture of these two the more money the people of the house have

disneyday6839.jpg

We were led upstairs and seated right next to a railing overlooking the rest of the restaurant

disneyday6843.jpg

The service was good and soon we were giving our orders.

Is anyone surprised mine included alcohol?

disneyday6849.jpg

Yak Attack - Mango Daiquiri, Bacardi Light Rum, and Wildberry Flavors

It was very good! But also dangerous because you couldn't taste the alcohol :rotfl:

For our appetizer we ordered

disneyday6850.jpg

The egg rolls. It only lists pork on All Ears but I am pretty sure ours didn't have pork in it :confused3

For my meal

disneyday6851.jpg

Seared Ahi Tuna - chilled, sesame-encrusted ahi tuna, wasabi aioli, and sweet chili slaw

Wok-Fried Green Beans - battered green beans, sweet Thai chili dipping sauce

I had read about the Green Beans on MEK's TR just a few days prior so I knew I had to order them! My food was delicious!

Mom ordered

disneyday6852.jpg

Baby Back Ribs - slow-roasted ribs, hoisin BBQ sauce, chicken fried rice, sweet chili slaw

She really enjoyed these as well!

Now there was one food that had been alluding me for quite some time. This food was actually why we kept making ADRs for this restaurant. People have talked about this dessert all over the DIS and it was finally my turn to try it out.

disneyday6854.jpg

Fried Wontons - Skewers of fresh pineapple and cream cheese wontons, vanilla ice cream, honey vanilla drizzle

They were....disgusting. Honestly the whole cream cheese part was so nasty. I have become a major health freak as of late and looking at that picture now just makes me sick :worried: The cream cheese was sweet and warm and ew. Cream cheese should be left to bagels and cheesecake both of which shouldn't exactly be warm. I am sorry to those who love this dessert but it definitely was not even close to making my list of Disney foods.

Overall we really enjoyed our food and our time there. We hope to return there some day! I think Mom and Dad might be :confused3 With how Mom changes ADRs who knows :lmao:

So what do you do right after you have had an alcoholic beverage and eaten some food?

If you guessed go here

disneyday6857.jpg

You would be right!

disneyday6859.jpg

disneyday6860.jpg

Yep back to Everest!

disneyday6861.jpg

I honestly believe this ride has one of the best themed Qs in Disney!

disneyday6870.jpg

disneyday6874.jpg

Now I love taking ride pictures and I was definitely feeling adventurous today taking the good camera on EE :thumbsup2

After this ride I took a red neck ride photo

And with that and a couple parting pictures from EE

I leave you to contemplate where our next adventure will take place...

Somebody is up bright and early with an update!

Your meal sounds so yummy and I am surprised to hear that you didn't like the wontons. I have never had them and I was way to full in December to even think about trying them. Now I don't feel so bad that I didn't. :rotfl2:

Did you love the fried green beans? Nothing healthy about them, but YUM!

I also wanted to try the Yak Attack and its still on my bucket list.

I'll be back later to see your pictures.

:cool1: Woo Hoo for biweekly updates! :cool1:

I thought I would get one done before I started my day :thumbsup2

Yeah they were disgusting you didn't miss anything! We just focused on the fruit and ice cream.

They were very good! I figure they are healthier than french fries :thumbsup2

It was very good!

It's time to get this TR finished so we will be doing two updates a week until that happens

 Whoa! That's ambitious!

We have another Disney vacation coming up (for me) in 35 days!!!!

Followed by another TR right?

Right?

When we last left off we were heading to lunch our lunch destination was Yak and Yeti!

We had, had so many reservations for here in the past that got canceled and it was about time we ACTUALLY ate there!

Never been, so I'm glad you took copious amounts of photos.

That ceiling just blows me away. That amount of detail and work. Amazing.

The decor is awesome! The idea is that a family turned their home into a hotel and once you hear that the details are very noticeable!

That's cool. Did you know that going in or did a CM mention it?

Is anyone surprised mine included alcohol?

Alcoholic beverage? You?

I never would've guessed. :rolleyes1:

It was very good! But also dangerous because you couldn't taste the alcohol :rotfl:

Uh, oh. Could you feel your legs afterwards?

Now there was one food that had been alluding me for quite some time.

How was it alluding to you? Was it making snide comments? The cad!

This food was actually why we kept making ADRs for this restaurant. People have talked about this dessert all over the DIS and it was finally my turn to try it out...

They were....disgusting.

Oh, crap! That's too bad. Especially after you were looking forward to it for so long.

So what do you do right after you have had an alcoholic beverage and eaten some food?

I go to sleep. YMMV.

If you guessed go here

disneyday6857.jpg

You would be right!

Well, I was close. Theoretically you could sleep on EE. You are sitting down, you know.

Where I took more pictures in the Q

Which I appreciate. I've been on EE a few times but usually get through the queue so fast that I don't have much of a chance to look around. It really is pretty well done, isn't it?

Now I love taking ride pictures and I was definitely feeling adventurous today taking the good camera on EE :thumbsup2

For which you got in trouble.

After this ride I took a red neck ride photo

 Good one! Especially since everyone else is smiling.

And with that and a couple parting pictures from EE
I leave you to contemplate where our next adventure will take place...

Hmmm.... I'm gonna guess Nemo. Thanks for all the pics! :goodvibes

Joining in! :thumbsup2
My 3 year old niece loves the gorilla pics. Even though we'll only be visiting the Magic Kingdom in a couple of weeks, she's super excited to see anything Disney! Thanks for telling us about your trip!! :goodvibes

Yay for more Animal Kingdom! I absolutely love all the pictures of the Asia area/EE, it's probably my favorite area of the park, and the themeing is just done so incredibly well! I absolutely love walking through that cue in the early morning, when they're pumping all the "fog" through it and it feels like you could actually be in the mountains. UGH. so much love.

I haven't had the wontons, but being a bit of a health nut myself, I can't say that they look appealing. I've heard great things, but it takes a lot of me to even get through like, a blended margarita now a days, too sweet! Maybe I'll give them a try one day haha!

Exciting that your trip is so close!! Do you guys have a PTR on the go?? Are you hitting up a MNSSHP??

 Whoa! That's ambitious!

Hopefully we get it done!

Followed by another TR right?

Right?

Yep! We had actually considered not doing one but with all of the extra things we are doing on this trip we figured we needed to.

Never been, so I'm glad you took copious amounts of photos.

Of course!

That ceiling just blows me away. That amount of detail and work. Amazing.

It is a very neat restaurant!

That's cool. Did you know that going in or did a CM mention it?

The story was on a wall near the kitchen.

Alcoholic beverage? You?

I never would've guessed. :rolleyes1:

I know I am such an angel!

Uh, oh. Could you feel your legs afterwards?

Yes it was nothing like the margerita:thumbsup2

How was it alluding to you? Was it making snide comments? The cad!

We just kept canceling those ADRs!

Oh, crap! That's too bad. Especially after you were looking forward to it for so long.

I was disappointed..

I go to sleep. YMMV.

Favorite Q next to RNR

For which you got in trouble.

Yes I did get a talking to...

 Good one! Especially since everyone else is smiling.

Thank you!

We do see Nemo but it is not next up!

Joining in! :thumbsup2

Hope you have a great time at MK! Thank you for reading!

Yeah we focused on the fruit and ice cream the other part was just gross!

No PTR since this is taking up so much time! We are going to MNSSHP there will actually be two accounts of it on the TR and then I am also going to Hollywood Horror Nights at the Dark Side :thumbsup2

Great pictures! Nicely done.

Your redneck ride photo had me LOL'ing. Your expression is too funny!:rotfl:

Again, your pictures are amazing! I love the purple flower one. I think my husband would really like Yak and Yeti, but I am a very picky eater. The restaurant looks very interesting, I had never heard the story behind it. I'm glad you liked your meal minus the dessert.

Thank you!

My mom is a picky eater too! She isn't a fan of Asian food but she did enjoy her meal here.

Okay, I'm back and getting caught up. I tell ya, you go out of town for two weeks, then life gets in the way. The DIS just goes on without you. :rotfl2:

That stinks that your entrees at the Brown Derby weren't great, but I heard the words "blue cheese" and I shuddered.

Yay Caitlin trying out for the American Idol experience. Every time I walk by I'm so tempted, but I haven't done anything in front of an audience in years. I'm a bit rusty....

A Walking Dead zone at Hollywood Horror Nights?! Oh, I would so be there too!

Look at you movin' like Jagger. :rotfl:

Awww, Dawn hurting Phineas' feelings. Shame on you! ;)

Um, that Comet drink at Sci Fi sounds a bit dangerous.

OMG, I want to be the CM leading the ECV's and wearing that space helmet. Best....job.....ever.....

You are not crazy for packing 48 days in advance. I was packed for my trip to Europe for like three months.

I am not ashamed to say that I too have had to be propped up against a wall in Epcot before.....for the same reason....'ritas can do that to you. :rotfl2:

Pastries are always best after you've been drinking the night before. True story.

OMG, you got a picture of the lion awake! Lucky lucky lucky.

Lily is so absolutely adorable.

Wow, those tigers look like they were really hard for you guys to get a picture of, moving around like that. ;)

Sorry you didn't like the wontons. We all have our preferences, that's what makes us all unique. ;)

Haha, nice face in your redneck ride photo.

I hear ya! I am still getting caught up from February :rotfl:

I definitely underestimated the blue cheesiness..

Yay Caitlin trying out for the American Idol experience. Every time I walk by I'm so tempted, but I haven't done anything in front of an audience in years. I'm a bit rusty....

It is a bit nerve wracking!

A Walking Dead zone at Hollywood Horror Nights?! Oh, I would so be there too!

I am so excited! I even bought a Sheriff Grimes t shirt to wear!

Look at you movin' like Jagger. :rotfl:

Awww, Dawn hurting Phineas' feelings. Shame on you! ;)

Um, that Comet drink at Sci Fi sounds a bit dangerous.

It was so good though!

Those babies are way too strong for their own good!

Pastries are always best after you've been drinking the night before. True story.

When you don't have McDonalds ya gotta make do :thumbsup2

We were!

Thank you and welcome back!

I have fallen so far behind! :sad2: But thankfully I am now all caught up!!

Giraffes are my favorite!! Wonderful pictures on the safari! Even the elephants are great! But the lion is amazing!! I usually only go early morning and usually that has been the only time I have seen him moving!

All of the pictures were great so I won't elaborate since it would be 12561359215 elaborations! :rotfl: I really love AK though if nothing else because of the photo ops. I love the attention to detail put into all aspects! Plus the animals add to it! I am glad ya'll were able to enjoy the park! :goodvibes

I want to try Yak and Yeti someday but that dessert doesn't look good to me...and I like wontons with cream cheese!

AK is definitely ahmahzing!

Nope it was pretty gross!

Hey everyone!

I am just checking in with you all because we have a few things going on that might affect our updating this week. First, I am going in for some medical testing this week. My doctor found a couple lumps in my abdomen so today I had to go in for blood work and tomorrow I have to go for two CAT scans. We are all pretty worried and scared so prayers, good thoughts and pixie dust is needed!

Secondly, Andrew my boyfriend who lives in Louisiana is coming up for the weekend! Instead of me going down in October he is coming here for Labor day weekend. I am pretty excited because it has been forever since I saw him in person!

So we might be too busy for two updates this week so I apologize!
