Detour getting to I-75 South in Detroit

I posted this on the Canadian board but I am also asking here incase anyone from Detroit knows this. Last August after we crossed into the United States at the Ambassador Bridge we were taken on a detour onto I-94, however it there were signs saying how to get onto I-75 South and I actually thought that was was a lot easier then the regular route. Anyway we are leving for Clearwater, Beach this Friday and are driving down from Toronto, so I am wondering if they are still having this detour?

The construction is all done on 75 at the Ambassador Bridge. The only detour there is if you get off the interstate and eat at Mexican Town,LOL
