Detective Briscoe?

Ok I know this must be the wrong thread but.. Did the late great Jerry Orbach do the voice of Lumiere on Beauty and the Beast? I bought a Disney CD to listen to whilst I Dis, and it says its him singing "Be Our guest" with Jessica Fletcher! Did all the bad guys on Law and Order know this?

He did do the voice of Lumiere! I bet if the bad guys had known crime in NYC would have been crazy! Also another bit of Law and Order trivia, Jesse L. Martin (Det Greene) was one of the original cast members in the Broadway musical Rent. He was also in the recent movie version.

Jerry Orbach had a long and wonderful career on Broadway and such, singing and dancing, well before he became Det. Briscoe. It's amazing some of the places he pops up.

Jesse Martin was also in a Buffalo, NY Theatre of Youth Production of Peter Pan. with ME!!! He was a lost boy, as was I....at age 12....I played one of the twins.

Great actor, even then, at 15 years old. And one of the nicest funniest guys I have ever met.

We are Law and Order Junkies and when he joined the cast, I never paid attention to the credits. But I kept telling DH...."That guy looks so freaking familiar!"

Then one night on an episode.....he smiled. BAM. I knew. My Dad used to say that Jesse's smile was like the sun. Just infectious and made ya feel happy.

Love him.

It is a little known fact that Detective Briscoe would apply accellerated candle flame to the butts of suspects during interrogations.

I've seen Jesse Martin in Rent on Broadway.
