Magic:
- Single-use magic pin support. Single use pins disappear after one use or a specified "expiration date". They can not be combined.
- The three Treasure Keys (Bronze, Silver, and Gold) are actually single-use magic pins. Wear them and activate them like normal magic pins, by double-clicking them or by saying "YoHoBronze", "YoHoSilver", or "YoHoGold". When you activate one (by standing beside the corresponding chest in the Pirates Treasure Room), you might (or might not) win a prize. The three Pirate Maze pieces (Wall, Cannon Wall, Turret) and Turn Into Coral Magic Pin Single Use are only available from the chests; other prizes which have been won are Pirate Throne (Green, Purple, Blue, or Black), 200 Credits, 300 Credits, and 500 Credits.
Quests:
- New "Collectables" quest action. The quest players need to collect the required amount of the specified type (sea shells, trophies, or gas cans), which appear randomly in the room.
- New "Find Multiple Items" quest action. The quest players need to find all the specified items (skulls, atoms, diamonds, horseshoes, clovers, or 50th Mickeys), which the quest designer hides in the room. It's no longer necessary to have, for example, five separate quest steps to find five items in a room.
- You can no longer use non-dictionary words in quest hints.
Trades:
- "Show Trade Requests" preferences option, which can be turned off so that a user won't be bothered by trade requests.
- A small red 'T' icon appears over the head of a person who is trading. It gets pushed upwards to make way for the blue arrow if you click on the person.
- Magic pins now show their star level in profiles and trades.
- When a teleporter is selected in a trade view or a Furnishings view, the square around its matching teleporter lights up.
Misc:
- A player's profile can now display fifteen pins.
- Two new hairstyles ('bald' for boys and 'flip' for girls), and hair can now be pink.
- New "Mod Only" outfits for VMK staff, resembling traditional Disneyland tourguide outfits.
- Discovery Island (which previously had the Kellogg's cereal boxes and the gangplanks from which to try Pirate, Cursed Storm, and Buried in Treasure Magic) has been removed.
There are some other useful changes which are under-the-hood and not visible in the game yet, but I'll wait until the VMK staff decide it's time to announce these.
