Destination D - Who's going?

Did the email have times for the sessions or was it just the same thing that is posted on the website? I checked all the email accounts that it could have possibly gone to and we didn't receive any email from D23! :confused3

It should have gone to the same email address where you received the confirmation for purchasing the Destination D tickets.

Quick question... how does D23 affects people who will not attend? the 24th is my last visit to the parks.. thanks!

I would not expect Destination D to have any impact on crowds in the park. Only a small number will be attending (1500) and they will be at the DLH from 9AM to 10PM except for a couple fo 2 hour meal breaks. I think it has already had some impact on occupancy at the Disney hotels and DVC. - Suzanne

The Scavenger Hunt will have between 2-4,000 people out and about on Sunday, so I don't know what, if any effect thatwill have.

Hi!

There is an item on the RSP that I would love to buy, but I could not afford the cost of Destination D.

If someone, who is going, could pick it up for me, I would be so grateful. I am local and could meet with you, with money beforehand, and loiter at the park until you are leaving the event to receive the item from you.

In other words I could make this as painless as possible for you to do me a real favor.

If anyone would be able to do this for me, I would be so happy. And think of all that good karma!!! :worship:

PM me,

Cathy

We joined D23 in order to attend this event. We'll be there. I hope it was worth the huge chunk of change it cost.

I thought it was very cheap.. $125 for 2 very full days of amazing presentations??
Now..the Sorcerer or Premiere packages for the EXPO...THOSE were expensive.

I am sure Destination D will a huge bargain..

So I'm guessing that trying to get into DVC is basically impossible for the 24th & the 25th? It's my birthday weekend and we were going to go down there for it.

I got the last 1 br in early March and I know nunzia has been on the WL since about then too. Unless someone cancels, probably not going to happen!

What is RSP? Has anyone volunteered yet?

RSP is the Random Selection Process, to order event merchandise. If the window has closed for the RSP, but not everything was sold, the items will be available at the Destination D store set up at the event.

I am still hoping that there is someone out there that would be willing to pick up an item for me...:banana:

It was $325 for our D23 Gold membership and two tickets to the event. That's not pocket change for us. But we're splurging on this trip. We decided to add a couple of extra days onto the end of the trip originally and then found out about the event and it was just like the universe bringing it all together for us. At first I was going back and forth about it, because that's a lot of money that we could be spending on other things we enjoy (pins, artwork, that Passholder exclusive WOC hoodie, etc). But then I was just like, when am I ever again going to have the opportunity to see Marty Sklar, Tony Baxter, Richard Sherman, Dave Smith, etc. I don't think this type of opportunity will ever again present itself to me so I had to go for it. These people are my idols; they create what I love most in the world, which is the magic of Disney.

I had no idea there was an RSP for merchandise. I googled about it and found these other references.

People talking about the RSP:

This might be a list of the merchandise?

But I still don't know how you did the RSP, I never got anything in the mail or email about it. The D23 webpage about the event doesn't mention an RSP, and the only reference to buying merchandise is "There will also be a selection of limited edition merchandise available for purchase at the event."

I understand..and since you only bought the membership because of the event it really does make the price more..since I'm a member already, and just paying for myself, $125.00 is such a bargain. Of course I am looking at it with the EXPO as my perspective. What an amazing experience! That's how I felt about the EXPO..I idolize these people and I am RIGHT THERE! I sat close to Tony Baxter at the Pixar presentation..it was wonderful how many of these people seem to also be FANS..they were there to enjoy as well as participate. Lots of people were coming up to Tony Baxter before John Lasseter came out, and he was so gracioous to everyone. So I undertand it isn't pocket change to you, but I think when all is said and done you will look back at the event and feel it was a real bargain and the experiences are truly priceless. Disney tends to over-deliver and I bet this event will be no different. You will be amazed and smile the whole weekend! Disney magic at its best :wizard:

I got one and registered, but never got the sheet to pick out what I wanted :confused3

They sent an email to me titled Destination D and Mickey Mouse Anniversary Merchandise on 8/11. It had the registration form to send in to be able to participate in buying merchandise through the RSP (Random Selection Process). About a week after sending in the registration, they sent another email with a similar title with links and instructions on filling out the RSP. They also had a link to the merchandise page. It was due 11:59 p.m. on 8/29.

I've gone to events before with the RSP to buy merchandise, so I knew what to expect. But I can imagine this would have been confusing for people who hadn't done it before. Maybe not knowing the process or what emails to expect. I'll bet they have some of merchandise available at the event. It always seems as if they do.

Well, I guess this explains why we never got any information about the RSP. We just bought our tickets about a week ago, so we missed the deadline. :sad1: I really want the pin and the green t-shirt. I hope they'll have some at the event.

At past events, after going through registration and picking up your RSP items, they sent you to a room with a display of additional available merchandise. And this is where you could pick it out and pay for it also. I'm not sure if this is what they will be doing, but most likely. In other words, if you want the best chance to get anything that might available, you need to be at registration early!

The T shirt was listed as open issue and since that was the only item I really plan on getting (I liked the ice cream bowl, but really..don't need more stuff) so I didn't really care I didn't get the reservation email.
