Destination D ticket info posted

The hunt sounds kinda fun, but I think I'd need a crack team to get a shot at winning.

..now comes the mad dash to get tickets..I was prepared to spend quite a bit more..another bargain from D23 :)

Can't wait! Looks like fun. Already bought plane tickets coming back on Sunday, so no scavenger hunt for us! That does sound like fun too.

I wonder if they will screen movies at night like they did during the Expo. I would love to see The Sherman Brothers movie again. I saw about half of it during the Expo, and loved that Richard came out and played (we showed up late after putting the kids to bed and sat on the far side by the piano as no one was sitting there due to the movie, and ended up being about 20 feet from Mr. Sherman as he played!).

Looks like a pretty good lineup of events, and I'm hoping they have surprises like they did last time!

For those that went to the first expo was it difficult to get into the events you wanted?

The other interesting thing is it keeps saying that it is in the Grand Ballroom of the Disneyland Hotel which has a capacity of 2,500, and it mentions the room will be cleared several times and you can't save seats when it is cleared out. Makes you wonder if they are all in the same room and everyone gets to go to everything... ?

I think that was the plan.

This sounds so fun since it is my birthday weekend. :cool1: Maybe I should make this my birthday trip this year.

I would love to go, but I'm afraid that this might be another one of those events that sells out within minutes. I'll be online Monday and try, but I'm not going to assume that I can get tickets and then be disappointed when I don't. I'll wait until I have confirmed tickets before making any other plans like plane tickets and hotel reservations. I hope that I'm proven wrong and was concerned for no reason!

I had read that configured for this event the room would only hold about 1,300 to 1,500 people. ACK..Monday will be fun. Also, I had understoof that every ticket holder would be able to get into all events, so maybe they are clearing the room and not allowing seats to be saved so you can re-enter and have a chance at a better seat for each event..so one group can't just park in the front row and save seats while others use the restroom or do food runs all day. I'm sure it will sell out quickly. We have a hotel reserved, but no other plans until we know if we can actually go.

If I remember correctly, back when this was first proposed, there was a possible dinner component to it. And it was said that for DINNER the room would hold 1,500. Surely for seminars in would hold more?

I found the info on the Grand Ballroom from Disneyland's website.

Disneyland Hotel Grand Ballroom

For a Reception (no seating?) capacity is 2571. As a Theater capacity is 1650. For a Banquet capacity is 1150.

Since we're not getting dinner, I'm thinking it should be close to the 1650 number. Thoughts??

I agree..chairs and stuff. Hopefully this number is allowing for a stage and all the sound and light equipment they will need.
So...if half of D23ers buy for themselves and a guest then the first 1,200 to get through will get all the tickets..Yowzer...:scared1:

I will definitely be online Monday morning pulling my hair out with anticipation/worry:scared1:

I hope we get tickets or else my plane tickets might be in trouble! We already booked using DVC points at the Disneyland Hotel too. Hopefully it works out...

Good luck to everyone booking this morning.

I got my tickets this morning!

I really think I need to fing a new interest that isn't so stressful. I realized last week that my membership renewal from June 1 had yet to be processed by D23. While I received an e-mail saying it was activated, you never really know until they open the ticket sales. Luckily, I had no problems and can now look forward to a great Destiantion D in September. -- Suzanne
