We've been onto Virgin and cancelled our Pop Century hotel reservation and we're now (and DW insists I say this ;) ) "going home" to the SSR. :yay: :cheer2:

We've made a reservation at Congress Park. However DW (aka Chicken Little) has now gone into "the sky is falling mode" and wants to know if the Congress Park is noisy at night being opposite Downtown Disney:rolleyes: .

Richard, fab news you are going home, it will be brilliant. Please tell Chicken Little not to worry, Congress Park is great, if you are lucky you will get a great view of Downtown Disney. Ian and I have stayed twice at Congress Park now and have never been bothered by noice from Downtown Disney, you can't hear a thing in our experience. The first year, they still had the fireworks at midnight at Pleasure Island we wanted to stay up to watch them from the balcony, we slept through them, and the noise from them never disturbed us once. That being said there are no fireworks now. You will be able to walk to downtown Disney in about five to ten minutes, it really is the perfect location. The quiet pool is about two minutes walk away and overlooks Downtown Disney, it is bliss there, comfortable loungers, and perfect peace, if you will want a drink (alcohol) at the quiet pool though be sure to take something from the room, as there is no poolbar there, there is a pop machine. The jacuzzi there is relaxing too. You will also be very close to the bbq area, we have not tried this yet, but we like to sit on the balcony and watch our US friends troop pass with their bags of goodies and packs of bud. The bus service from there is great, there are four bus stops in all, and we have never waited more than fifteen minutes for a bus, there is also an internal bus that you can use to take you down to the main pool, spa and restaurant, it is probably only about a five minute walk though, ten on a tired day ! Did you guess that you have hit on the love of my life ! sorry to ramble

yes Sarartoga is great and we have stayed twice in Congress Park and hope to again in August. As Jules said you can't hear anything it is just so peaceful.

The best bit for us is that we always walk to DTD every night or you can walk to the crossroads restaurants.

If you have ADRs at the resort hotels just walk to DTD and get the bus to what ever resort you want.

Have a great time.

I don't think there is any doubt that Saratoga will be better than Pop! I haven't actually stayed there as it is OKW's neighbour and there didn't seem much point but I do like the area. Have a wonderful trip!

Congress Park is great! I agree with all Saratogagirl says!!

Many thanks for the replies. "Chicken Little" is very pleased now (however, for some reason everytime I call DW Chicken Little she hits me with a rolling pin. :confused3 ).

Excellent news Richard:thumbsup2
