Destin or Hilton Head?

Budget wise, which would you choose for a beach stay iin July? We are looking to rent a condo for a week and want to be at the beach, not doing excursions or day trips elsewhere. We have family in Gulf Shores but choose not to go there because they do not enjoy the beach and we spend a week shopping and mini-golfing, but never stepping foot on the gorgeous white sand beaches! If you have other suggestions for a simple beach stay, feel free to chime in!
