Desserts at a later time?

Hi everyone....let me apologize in advance if this is a "dumb" question and if it it listed somewhere on this board....I looked I just can't find it.

I did read that if you didn't want to have your dessert at your CS location, you could get your ticket stamped and return to have it later....

What I want to know is....do you have to return within a certain time period and do you have to return to the same counter service location?

I'm thinking that many times we may not want dessert when we use the CS (mostly for lunch) but that we may want it later in the afternoon at one point before dinner....I'm sure we won't be "near" the CS location we had lunch at.....in fact we would most likely be back at the CBR. So I guess more specifically I'm wondering......If I eat at CS meal at the Columbia Harbor House and get my receipt stamped can I get my dessert at the CBR foodcourt later on?

I think I have read this only happens when the dessert in question is frozen and you want to eat your meal first. You would get your meal first and when you are ready for dessert you go back up and get it. I have never read an instance where you could get it hours later or at a different location. Most CS places have the pre-packaged desserts now that you can take with you.

We were able to this @ the resort food court.

As the PP said, it was only if we wanted ice cream that would be ruined BTT we finished our meal.

DH thinks it had to be within an hour or two.

In our experience, it's just when you're getting ice cream as your dessert at hotel food courts. We were allowed to do this at POFQ counter service just last week, also at POP last September...but only for ice cream. At POP, the cashier said to come back for the ice cream "when you're done eating your meal" i.e., didn't specify time limit. At POFQ, the cashier said "within an hour". Worked out nicely to not have melted ice cream.

I did this last week at the Pop Food Court. It had to be ice cream. She gave me the receipt back with a stamp on it and told me that it had to be redeemed within 90 minutes. I took the reciept back, got my sundae, carried the reciept to the check out, and had no problems.

Also done this at value food courts for Ice Cream only. POP & the AllStars. I did this once at MK at El Pirata in Adventureland. They had Mickey Bars for dessert and we went back later in the afternoon to get them - that was in 2006.
