Dessert Reception

My boyfriend (hopefully soon fiance) want to have a small ceremony (escape wedding), but with a larger (larger than the 18 people at the ceremony) dessert reception. We've heard of people doing this with IllumiNations, but do people do it with FantasMic? I think I've heard of this, but am not sure. Has anyone done this before? It seems to me to be more cost effective.
