Dessert Party Questions

I am considering one for the Christmas Party on December 8th. They released packages today for November.

If I do it, I would select the garden area, not tomorrowland.

1 - If you did this, did you feel it was worth the money? (that makes MVMCP about $200 a person)
2 - Are you squished in the area or is there a little bit better spacing that just standing with the crowd?
3 - Were the desserts good or were they typical counter service quality
4 - Are you able to sit in this area or does everybody stand even when you have a reserved area.
5 - If you did the terrace, why did you pick that instead of the little garden/gated area?

Would love to hear your experience

We did the plaza viewing Christmas dessert party two years ago and I wouldn't do it again. We discovered, after we got to the garden, that we could have found a decent viewing spot with little wait outside of the area without spending the extra money. Unlike HEA, the projections on the castle during Holiday Wishes aren't great (unless they change them this year as they are doing for the Halloween fireworks). We weren't squished in the area, but it wasn't sparse either. The desserts were quite good, IMHO, so if you want to do it for the desserts, it's not a terrible waste. If you are really doing it just to see the fireworks, I would probably save your money and simply find a spot in the hub or further down Main St.

Thank you :)

I have done several dessert parties and enjoyed them. But I would not do one during a holiday party. The fireworks can be viewed many places, the crowds aren't as bad as a regular day as MK, and projections are not a vital part of the show, as they are for Happily Ever After.

I have not done the holiday parties for the desert and fireworks, but can do a little bit of a comment about Terrace seating. We chose that because one of the people in our party was elderly and thought it would be better to have a seat for the entire time. We did enjoy the show very much, but some of the high fireworks were cut off by the edge of the building, and we could not see the projections as well as if we had been in the plaza area.

I love dessert parties, but would not do one during a holiday party. It takes too much time out of an already time limited event with a lot of other special things I want to make time for. Normally I would also say that location to watch the fireworks doesn’t matter as much for holiday wishes like it does HEA, but I hear they are changing the show this year so I imagine it will become projection heavy as well. It still should be easier to find a decent spot than a regular park day for HEA, I would settle for an “okay” spot and not take the time for the party or staking a perfect spot out way in advance.

I have done dessert parties during the parties and agree I don’t think it’s money well spent, unless you’ve read up and know what you’re getting in to / if it fits your style.

One wrinkle... MNSSHP is going to have a new fireworks show this year which ‘could’ put a premium on on Hub/front of castle viewing and change the dynamics/benefits of the dessert parties. I can’t recall if it has been confirmed or just rumor if MVMCP is getting a similar new fireworks show as well, but something to keep an eye on. Just something to keep an eye on. I don’t think the parties will ever be HEA-style Hub crowded even with a new projection-focused show, but it ‘could’ make the dessert parties more appealing than in the past for those that don’t want to mess with holding a spot or crowds.
