Dessert Party now until end of year

I would never pay that either, especially with all the food you get on the dining plan !

I agree wholeheartedly with that! I think the major draw of this is the fireworks. I think this has proved lucrative to Disney. With so many people on the Dining Plan they are still willing to fork out for dessert. Honestly, even at actual Disney prices per item, who eats $30 worth of desserts? I assume there is gratuity lumped on top of that too. Still, it's a hot ticket and those who do go seem to have thoroughly enjoyed it so I probably shouldn't be so quick to judge. I just know that I would have to use that party to replace a meal and I could not eat sugar as a meal.

We did it in May and while it was nice and an experience we wouldn't do it again.

Tax and tip are included though :goodvibes

We are no longer doing DDP, however I couldn't spend $45 on desserts for the two of us. Though DD could probably eat $30 worth, not that I would ever let her!

Wel that's not really toooooo bad then, I suppose. It's one of those things you habe to accept is an experience package, i.e. the value is not all in the food.

I have to say this didn't really appeal to me then DH saw the pics and wanted to know why we weren't doing it!

So maybe we'll give it a try one year.

I have to say I would quite happily do this party! Hubby LOVES desserts and so do all the boys and as a treat I really dont think I would mind if they filled their boots with dessert ....I also love dessert :) Im actuallyhoping that I can get tikets to this hen i go as not fighting for a place to see fireworks seems like a good deal with the kids, I did hear alot of people say that although you get a good place to see them its not the same a viewing the castle front on and seing them as a whole ( and the desserts look amazing) and yes we are on the DDP

The article says tip not included.

"This price includes tax, but not gratuity. Gratuity isn't required, but is an option if you so desire"

That must have changed when I booked at the start of the year the agent told me tax & tip were both included in the price. The night we were there no one was leaving a tip when they left.

i didn't see anyone leaving a tip either.

We did it, it was about guaranteeing a view and a seat for the fireworks in Easter week when it was very busy, about doing something special, we weren't staying in a disney hotel so didn't have the dining plan ... I think sometimes people forget how many people DON'T stay at Disney hotels ... we deliberately didn't eat a lot at tea time and appreciated our desserts ... but no, we didn't eat $50 dollars worth.

For us it was worth it - calm, quiet in the middle of a very crowded park, uninterrupted view, a wave from Tinkerbell and something sweet to eat. Expensive yes, would I do it again, probably not, worth it? For us, yes :)

Whilst disney certainly know how to do deserts I wouldn't pay that price for this either and the location isn't the best for viewing the fireworks, we went past in May and it was quite full so it is certainly paying off for disney.

If they did this at Epcot like they have the DP for weddings/functions I probably would pay, I think they do it for grand gatherings but nothing like the Desert party at MK.

I'm not on the dining plan, I considered doing it briefly - but I just couldn't get myself past the fact that I think it's an insane amount of money for what it is.

Horses for courses though :)

just come back,as a one off it is lovely but not worth the money.

I wont be doing it again but it is relaxing and we had a great view. It would be better if it included sandwiches as well, like a proper tea party:rotfl2:

we did this last sept when it was something like $18 each i thought that was expensive! the view is good and the desserts were nice but we no way ate $18 worth so with it going up there is no way we would do it again.

you can get just a good a view by waiting, we had to wait at least 30 mins before it opened anyway so just the same as waiting for a spot on main street
