Hi all!! My DF and I were kicking around some ideas and we came up with the idea of having a DP but on a separate day than the wedding. We are having our wedding on a sunday and inviting all of our guests to stay the week with us. We were thinking of having a DP at the end of the week to thank the people that stayed with us. Have you heard of anyone doing that? and do they even allow it?

Absolutely you can do that. I went to a wedding where people used this as a welcome party. They had appetizers and dessert. I think that would be LOVELY!

I'm debating do that now as well. Use it as a welcome party, I mean. My WP is totally cool with it and has sent me tons of pics!

I say go for it!!!!! I wish I had a dessert party,my group wasn't big enough :(

I think it's a great idea! Isn't there a 20 person max. though for Epcot dessert parties? I don't know the details...

Maybe there are a lot of different venue options for it though! Good luck!

I agree, I think it's an awesome idea to have a separate event, and what a nice thing to do for your guests!

They have two specific locations for Excape brides to have their DP's... once you go over 20 people then you have to move to another location...

Thanks for all your input. My DF and I love to dance. We are planning on having or reception at ADH with the buyout. We didnt want to cut it short because Illuminations is at ten (I think). We wanted to enjoy dancing with our guests. So I think with the dessert party on another day we can have our cake and eat it too!! LOL!!!

Thats the great part about all this, you can do it how ever you want. We are using the dessert party in place of a rehersal dinner..its ending up alot cheaper than a full meal at a resturant for us:goodvibes

the only advantage to having it the same day is that it counts towards your minimum. If that's not a concern, go for it! It would be a great event any day!
