I want a dessert party at Sago Cay and I was wondering if anyone had menus that were a la carte instead of the per person ones. I want to stay close to $500 because I am thinking of doing my own candy bar. Thanks!

well no matter how you order/what you order.... i believe it will still be broken down in a price per person. just break down how many people you want there from your budget and that's what you can spend. you will want to check with disney about the candy bar. i also believe that at outdoor locations everything must be provided by disney. those who provide their own are normally in indoor/ballroom locations. things always change so feel free to contact them and ask!!

Ah, yeah you are probably right about that. I know if you have an outdoor wedding ceremony, you have to use them for decor. I want to have 50 people so that would only be $10 pp so I'm not sure if they would be cool with that lol

We are having a welcome reception at Sago Cay in October. We are just doing chocolate fondue at $10 per person with a cash bar (we have to pay $100 for the bartender, but this fee is waived if the bar sells more than $500). I think we added on a couple gallons of coffee/tea/cocoa with all the fixin's for $50 and pitchers of ice water for no cost. I think we are having the Mickey icecreams on BOC too.

There is no set-up fee since it is at a resort and we are using whatever table decor the GF has (for FREE :)). So it is possible to stay close to the $500 min! We are having some entertainment and more people, but our cost is under $2,000.

Awesome! Thank you so much. I wasn't planning on having a bar at all but that is pretty reasonable and my family could probably meet that $500.
Does anyone know if you have an added catered event after an Escape wedding, can you invite more people to it since you have to meet the $7500 min?

sorry to hijack but I also had a question about dessert parties for escape brides. If I book a dessert party for the night before will that trigger the 7500 minimum?

I don't think you can. When I was an Escape bride, my consultant told me the limit for ALL of my events was 20 people.

If you go through Disney Catered events, you don't have to. I wouldn't mention it was for a wedding because then you will get sent to DFTW. If you just call Disney Catered Events and thell them you want a dessert party for fun, you shouldn't have a problem.

Thanks, I was worried you had to keep the 20 person max.

Does anyone have dessert party menus or details at what is offered for Sago cay or marina dessert party? I'm interested in this just for a rehearsal dinner.

Sarah I got the email that said another, that included the info about the venues. Did you send a menu, if so I didn't get it...

Hi Nichole, sorry to hijack the thread, just had a quick question for you. When did you arrange your DP? I had my planning session last week for our wedding in October and I asked for a chocolate fondue at Sago Cay and was told they don't offer them for outdoor locations. :confused3Just wondered what you had been told so I can go back to my planner and ask again. Thanks for your help :goodvibes

Hey Amanda, I think the first one had a link to the menus on it, should have been right under the locations? If not let me know, my brain is not fully functioning today..

We finalized the menu last week. It's not a fountain. Instead they have dispensers for the chocolate (something about the fountains not being sanitary :sad2:). Some locations are still using something where you ladle the chocolate onto the food, but the plan is to switch them all over to the dispensers (according to our chef at the tasting).

HTH!

Yeah, the problem with the fountains is that bugs fly into them. :crazy2: Can't wait to see what the dispensers look like!

Thanks as always ladies! :thumbsup2

I keep picturing BridetoBe's Chocolate Fountain that exploded all over the Grand Suite at the Grand Floridian. I've been kind of scared of them after that
