I just read a post about the Kitchen Sink at B&C and I've been wanting to try this for a while now. I saw some sort of YouTube video showing how they're made and.... well.... everything but the kitchen sink is in there! :rotfl:

Unfortunately, my youngest DB is allergic to tree nuts. On one hand, I love walnuts, pecans, pistachios, etc but on the other hand, I really don't want DB to suffocate due to a "dessert of death," as we call them. :lmao: So, if we do this, I see two options:

1 - we get the Kitchen Sink just as they make it and DB gets his own sundae. I'd hate for him to feel "left out", though, as all the rest of us dig into the huge sink.

2 - we get the Kitchen Sink and have them make it without any kind of tree nuts (peanuts are ok). But, IMHO, what's a sundae without Butter Pecan or Pistachio ice cream and walnuts and almonds on top!! :cloud9:

There will be 10 of us in total (we'd probably need to get 2 sinks!) on this trip. The DB with the allergy is 14 and so is always with us when we go to Disney. If we don't go to B&C this trip, we will eventually so "saving the sink for next time" won't solve the issue. So WWYD?

I would be getting the kitchen sink without the nuts, but that's just me

I have a nut/peanut allergy and I am busting for the kitchen sink so I would be really sad if I was sitting at the table with everybody else hopping in to that amazing, delicious thing and I was stuck with a little regular sundae when all I was really wanting was the kitchen sink. Also with my nut problem, I can't have my family eat nut anyway as my DS had a chocolate with hazelnuts not long ago and kissed me on the cheek when he went to bed and when I woke up next morning my eye had blown up so big it shut. So no nuts for anybody around me sadly :sad1: Well it's sad for them, but good for me :rotfl:

Maybe ask your DB, maybe he won't want the kitchen sink anyway and would be happy to have his own sundae.

See, that's what I'm afraid of - I don't want him to feel like he's losing out on something. :sad1: But, then again, I don't want to lose out, either! :rotfl2: Thank goodness he's not that sensitive to get a reaction from someone else's saliva (well, that we know of, anyway - he is only 14 ;))! Wow - I really feel for you.

Hmm, maybe there's an option #3. Since there will be 10 of us we probably WILL need to get 2 anyway. We could get one with and one without tree nuts!

there is NO little sundae at B&C
He is 14, he has a ife threatening allergy and has to make accomodations in his every day life

personally, the kitchen sink looks  to me. the sundaes are huge and he will not be missing out if he gets the no way jose or another modified dessert

ask him to be the official photographer for hte event

if you get 2, get one modified and one not as an alternative

I would probably just ask that they put the nuts on the side due to an allergy. Then, whoever wants them can just add them separately.:thumbsup2

Hope you have a great trip.;)

He's 14, why not just ask him what he'd prefer to do and do that? :)

That.

If I was in your group, he wouldn't have to be the only one with an individual sundae. The thought of the kitchen sink, esp at the bottom when it's a melty globby mess, is not at all appealing to me. Nor is sharing with a bunch of people.

That's what I was thinking...if you need to get 2, then get 1 regular and 1 without tree nuts.

Our family has two people on very strict Gluten Free Diets. We have had the pleasure of having the kitchen sink twice. :cloud9: They made the dessert totally gluten free, and all of the gluten containing goodies were served on a platter. The gluten eaters just added them into their bowls - no problem.

I believe that I called the restaurant directly before going. They told me that they would have no problem with it at all, just to let them know when I ordered...the chef came out both times and made the dessert himself. We loved it!

Well, to me, it would be a much better sundae without those bleah ice cream flavors and without those nuts. And it's possible that opinion is held by other family members!

Your brother might not even want to go there at all...so definitely talk with him and the rest of the family about it.
