Dessert boxed "to go"

We were on the DDP in January 2006 and I know things have changed since then. At that time, if we were too full to eat our dessert, they would box it for us. It worked out well when we were too full to eat our yummy dessert right after the meal. Will they still do this?

We had our dessert boxed up last week at both Whispering Canyon and Wolfgang Puck's Cafe.

Agreed, we left with many boxed deserts during our May 2007 trip. Chocolate cake for breakfast, yum!

Yes, you can get them boxed and they make a great breakfast the next morning.

Although I haven't been able to try chocolate cake for breakfast yet, I have had School bread, stickey toffee pudding from Rose and Crown, French Pastry from Chefs de France, dessert from Sci-Fi, lots of places that have boxed dessert.

I would hate to have to carry around boxes after a meal. Did they have bags to put them in for you? ......I love the thought of chocolate cake for breakfast.

Just a tip. Those boxes are awkward to carry around and sometimes wind up leaking. Since one of us usually caries a backpack, we pack a couple of the disposable food containers in it for just such a occasion. We transfer the contents of the To-Go box discretly into the disposable container and happily go on our way knowing that the one with the backpack won't spend the rest of the time with something dripping down his or her back.
The containers are light weight and who cares if we wind up throwing them away instead of taking them back home. But they do wind up being helpful for stowing leakables in for packing into suitcases.

We had my DD's chocolate cannelloni boxed at Alfredo's, and she was sweet enough to give it to me for breakfast the next day. They also boxed up a fruit salad for her at Le Cellier.

Excellent idea Nanadeb! Maybe even bring a couple of plastic forks from home. You could get them in the food court but I would never remember to being one to the room.
