Dessert at counter service?

I'm curious as to how flexible the dessert options for counter service are? Do you have to get the cake/brownie/sweet item or can you just grab a banana and call that dessert?

Most CS in the parks only offer 2-3 options for the dessert item. If they have fruit it is usually grapes (for the kids).

At a resort the CS has more options and I do believe you can get a banana or piece of fruit as your dessert.

Most CS in the parks offer a sugar free option, especially for those with diabetes.

I have beem able to get a yogurt at park CS instead of the dessert.

Doesn't really answer your question but at Starring Rolls bakery in DS you get a sandwich, choice of chips or fruit as a side, a dessert, and drink for a CS credit.

Resort foodcourts and places like Sunshine Seasons have fruit bowls which count as dessert. They are in a closed plastic tub so they are great to take with and snack on later. WPE in DTD also offered fruit bowls as a dessert option, although not officially listed under dessert. And as a PP said, yogurt is rarely a problem - it's normally simply just a question as to whether the CS location actually has it.

Thanks for the input. I absolutely love dessert but I'm just wondering if I'm going to be really sick of it after having it twice a day on the dining plan.

Yes, dessert twice a day is overkill and i certainly can't eat that much of it without being sick of it.

We get fruit where available with our dessert and save it up for a snack later in the day which works really well. Also, if we eat at WPE or the foodcourt in the evening we take fruit as well and then save it in our room fridge for breakfast the next morning. Most CS places will allow a trade of your dessert for a bottle of water but this is not a written right and although most will accommodate you there are the occasional CMs who say no. If this happens we just leave the dessert behind

We sometimes got Mickey rice crisp treats as deserts, they were individually wrapped so we brought them home to enjoy a little bit of magic after our holiday was over. These were a desert option at our hotel, POR.
I also must confess, if we were full after our evening meal, we put our deserts in the fridge and had them for breakfast the next day :rolleyes1

I have heard that you can also get a bottle of water in lieu of dessert at some CS locations. I'm sure it varies by CM but worth asking once you're dessert-ed out. Especially when alot of the CS places offer the same desserts.
