Hi all,
I am going to make this post short but if you need the whole story please see my post on the Disney Resorts Board under "Big Problem, Need Help"

Basically My friend an I need a one night reservation in a hotle off property before we can check into our Disney resort the next morning. My friend wants to use Priceline to try and get a cheap room while I would rather stay at the Best Western in DTD. This way I know we can get to WDW without having to rent a car or pay for more transportation than we would if we could just go to our disney resort. The thing with priceline is we have no idea where we will be placed, WDW, the airport, or out even as far as close to Cape Canaveral. How can we solve this?
Thanks,
Minnesota

I haven't used Priceline for the area in a while, but there are very specific areas that you can pick. Just look at map to figure out which ones are too far for you.

The Courtyard by Marriott in DD has rooms for $20.02 Sun-Thurs. $89 Fri-Sat. Ask for the "100 Years of Magic Special" Although it expires soon, I asked about it and the receptionist said she could give it to me in December. I opted to stay at POFQ though because I got a great rate there...just couldn't pass up the opportunity. You do need to call the hotel directly to get this deal. Go to Downtowndisneyhotels.com and find the number. Hope this helps!

I'd tell your friend that you are not comfortable using Priceline because of the risk of ending up somewhere without transportation. However, if your friend really wants to use Priceline, ask her/him if they would assume the additional $$ risk. In other words, you will pay 1/2 of the hotel cost of the BW DTD, no matter where you end up. Any savings for using Priceline go to your friend (as you will still be paying 1/2 of the cost of staying BW DTD), but your friend must pay for any additonal transportation costs that arise because of the Priceline choice.

Personally, in your situation, I would also not want to use Priceline. You may end up paying lots of extra $$ for taxis or using up quite a bit of your vcacation time waiting on the "free" hotel shuttles to transfer yourself to the Disney resort. JMHO.
