How old are your kids? We stayed there in May and I made it a point to request non-bunk beds for the kids (2 & 5). Most of the pics of the suites feature the normal beds, but apparently a few have bunk beds instead.

There is no bunk beds in any of Universal's rooms. The DM beds are full twin beds shaped like a bomb.
There is a total of 18 DM suites, they are located in West and East wings.
The Loews website states there may be bunk beds. I hadn't heard of them either. There are a few reports about them in tripadvisor as well.

That was the same review that I happened to come across a few weeks before our visit. I just called the hotel and asked for non-bunk beds so that our 2yr old wouldn't try to climb up in the middle of the night and she said no problem. I haven't come across any pictures of the bunk bed suite but that review made the second room seem really crammed and definitely not worth it for the price we paidJust to add, I found this.
