I waited too long to make ADR's (January for our April trip) and have been trying so hard to get an ADR for Chef Mickey's. My daughter has autism so it is best that we kept to our usual home dinner time to prevent meltdowns.... She is used to eating around 5:30-6pm central time so we have been trying desperately to get any ADR at Chef Mickey's from 6-7:30pm without any luck at all. Are we just out of luck? Do you have any tips on the best time to call Disney Dining?

~ The day before or the day of a desired reservation is the best time to try..that's when most people cancel! I did that in November for Tony's in the MK..I called the disney dining line in the MK at around 3:00pm and they had two times to choose from!....I was trying for months!!! I bet you will get one! Good Luck! ;)

Thank you! I will try thing. I just know Madelyn would love this restaurant now that she is 5. She would really get into the napkin twirling. We want this vacation to be a special as possible for her!

i would do a walk up around 5 and see what happens, a few times during busy season i have gotten one that way. last may my friend messed up on a ressie and had it for the wrong day and about 15mins later they let them in , i would try that :thumbsup2

If Madelyn is awake (she still naps in the afternoon) we will try that. BUT I learned the hard way in 2006, we woke her from a nap to make an ADR. The meltdown lasted an hour. For the most part, despite her autism, we do not have to keep to a strict schedule with Madelyn BUT the one thing we can never do is wake her from a nap and expect her to transition from sleep to a meal quickly. I wish we would of make our ADR's 180 days out! A lesson learned....

Are you open to trying for breakfast? I think it goes until like 11am. The food is pretty good and it's very fun!

If your going during a really busy time, I'd avoid the walk up. We tried this Thanksgiving week and they looked at us like we were nuts :rotfl: CM is VERY popular. I would call WDW DINE first they might say walk over. This happened to a friend of mine who wanted dinner and was lucky to get lunch. (Do they still offer lunch anymore?):confused3

I would just keep calling every day. Call once a day. I couldn't get Chef Mickey's for Dinner then all of a sudden I thought to ask the WDW Dining to check all evening hours for the entire 10 days I was there, and she got me in. I only had to switch one ADR. We're dining at CM's twice, Breakfast then Dinner on our next trip.

If you call early in the morning, explain your situation, be very friendly and talkative I've found the WDW Dining to be very accommodating. I've also been told that they can finagle things. They can override the system, so they have told me (I'm a travel agent) I found this out when booking a family of 7. The majority of tables were for 6 or 8 they did some finagling and got me the tables and times my clients wanted. So if your kind and friendly, they do have some pixie dust up their sleeves :wizard:

This is a long shot of course, but have you tried calling Disney Dining and explaining why you need that specific time?
