What a horible day for you and your family. Keli, what kind of vehicle would he be driving? We have a small trucking company. Only a few trucks, but I can have our drivers put the word out on their radios and maybe somewhere a trucker can help. It's not much but it is something to try. You will be on my mind.

It's a white van with a black ladder/rack on the back and top. I don't know the year but I think it's 2002. I also believe its a chevrolet but I'm not 100% sure on that. There is vanity license plate on the front that says "FAT BOY" (Harley Davidson plate).


Edited to Add: We don't know my brother is still with the van (although we are hoping he is) so please, if you see it be very careful and call the police.

My cousin walked away from everything and told no one about his plan to leave. He was the manager of a very pretigious reatraunt in Yellowstone. We were all worried sick because he had never done anything like that before and he was in his 40's. Ended up he was suffering through some bad depression. Could it be possible that your brother suffered from depression and just went somewhere to think?

Could it be possible that your brother suffered from depression and just went somewhere to think?

I guess it is possible but I can't honestly say I've noticed any signs of depression in Johnny. Actually he's always laughing, always joking, never, ever in a bad mood type of guy. I just hope it's something like this even though I did see the signs.

I just came across this thread. What a terrifying experience for your family to go through. I pray you recieve news that your brother is OK and is heading home. I will continue to say a daily prayer until you have your answers and your brother is home safe. Please keep us posted with any updates.

We've got some news but honestly, I don't know what it means but here's what we know so far:

Johnny's card was used very early this morning about 3.5 hours north of us and again a little over two hours later about 2 hours north of us. It hasn't been used again since this morning. The place it was used the first time has survellance tapes and they are going to allow us to view them tonight with a night manager and the local sheriff's dept. My brother and dad are driving up there so at least by tonight we'll know whether it was my brother or not using the card.

I hope so bad it was Johnny but I have to be honest, this is all totally out of character for him. And we've found out that Johnny did have a conflict of some sort with two subcontractors last week. Don't know the extent of that or what it might mean, if anything, to this whole investigation.

Any word on who used the card yet?

I don't have good news regarding the survellance video. Unfortunately the format is a 1.5" X 1.5" screen. If they made it any bigger it became very distorted.

Apparently the video isn't very good even in such a tiny, tiny size but it was good enough that my brother felt they would have at least been able to spot John's van if it were there. But they didn't see any vehicle even resembling John's van. My dad is holding out hope in the blurry/dim video they could have missed John's van. I don't know what the police with them thought.

They are checking all of the rest stops on their way home for John's van.

Tomorrow we are starting the physical seach. We are meeting at a church in Bowling Green to canvass the town with a flier that will have John's picture and a picture of a van like he drives. I'm trying to locate a picture of a similar van right now. John drives a white chevrolet express van 2003, the utility verson with a black ladder rack on top. I can't find an exact picture but I've found a couple that are pretty close (just with a white ladder rack)
