designated smoking areas

This may have been asked a hundred times but I dont know the answer so,

I know that there are designated smoking areas all around the resorts and parks, I follow the rules but when looking at the map for the THV I did not see a smoking area. Are you aloud to smoke out side at your tree house? Are there smoking areas that are not on the map I saw?

We were there in May and my son asked; he was told he could smoke at the bottom of the stairs at the villa. There was a small smoking receptacle attached to the stair post. It was close to where the barbeque was located.
