Just back and stayed at Desert Palms. We had a mini-suite because we have 5 people in our family. It had the bedroom and then a sunken living room area that had a hide-a-bed. My kids loved it. There were big drapes that you could pull to seperate the two rooms. It was great that there were two TVs. We really liked our room.
The check-in service was not the friendliest. Their continental breakfast is not that good. And I wished there was a shuttle bus. They advertise that they are 150 yards from the gate to
Disneyland. This is true. However, that entrance leads to a very LONG walk through a parking lot and down a street to the actual entrance to either park. The good thing is that usually there is a tram running back and forth between that parking lot and the main entrance. Our first day there, that parking lot was completely empty and there was no tram. It was a really long walk for our kids. But the rest of the time there was a tram available. You still have to walk the length of the parking lot to get to the tram, but it's not that bad.
So basically, we really liked our room at the Desert Palms, but for the overall experience, I prefer the premium rooms (and shuttle bus) at the Candy Cane Inn.
