Hi all!

Has any one recently stayed at the Desert Palm? It will be my first time very soon. I'm traveling on a tight budget this time around and I have been wondering if this hotel upon check-in will put a hold on my credit card? Does anybody know what the charge or hold is? Also, I have already pre-paid my stay because I booked through Travelocity.

Any info is greatly appreciated. I also plan to give them a call tomorrow but thought I would see what my fellow Dis'ers experiences have been.

Thanks!:thumbsup2

I have not, but I just checked it out and it looks really nice. I may have to talk to DH about changing to this hotel. I like the kitchenette idea.

:)

I don't have experience there, but I've used travelocity to book Carousel, and no hold was put on my debit card.

Do you know how you're getting to/from the parks and all? Any questions? :)

Leofgenet, your last day is our first park day!

I don't have any advise for the OP other than anytime I've booked thru Travelocity and prepaid at any hotel I've never had a hold of any kind put on the card. Sometimes they will run a $1 thru just to make sure it's a valid card but they probably won't even do that.

Leofoenget - Just wanted to say we have the same exact trip dates! Maybe we'll see ya there!

Hi all,

Thanks for your input. :thumbsup2 I called Desert Inn directly and they said they do ask for a credit card upon check in for incidentals but said they only put a $20 hold per night of your stay and then release it upon check-out.

BUMBERSHOOT - We plan to make the short walk(15min) to and from the park each day. On the days we really get lazy then we plan to drive in and park, since our park tickets came with free parking at the Mickey & Friends parking structure.

We stayed there last weekend and it was pretty nice. The room was very clean and decorated nicely. We got a small suite that has a mini fridge and living room area. Seven of us stayed there relatively comfortably, 5 adults and 2 kids. The single bathroom was really our only limitations. The walk to disneyland is not bad, parking was a little limited. The pool and hot tub were clean and warm. I would recommend it.

We JUST got back.

The maids were FANTASTIC. The walk was doable (little long, but it was fine). Not the top of the line hotel, but we also had a mini fridge (In a reg room) and microwave.

The front desk was SO NICE and tried EVERYTHING they could to help us out on a few diff occasions.

We just got back too! Maybe I saw you at breakfast! :)

We had the Kalahari suite and loved it!
