The reservation show Executive Suite. That is all that they had when I made my reservation.

Also if that's all they had left, that means it's a super busy week! Try different dates, that room should still be cheaper at other times. We had that room this past January for $159.

Yes, I've booked DI&S many times this past year and I can verify that earliest is still the cheapest. It only goes up until they sell out.

See, this is where I am stuggling. I'm looking for next July (which has not been dropped yet) so was looking at June and it's over 200 a night, more than all of you have been paying! I thought a year our would be the cheapest but that does not seem to be true unless next year is just seeing another huge increase in price! Are they owned by DIsney lol

They just dropped the July 2025 and for an executive room it is 220 a night, 210 with AAA. I don't see how that is the lowest it will be. I'm out! I think we are going to try a San Diego trip and do the citypass and take in Seaworld, Legoland, the zoo and a few other things. Hopefully we can find hotels a little cheaper there!

210 USD plus parking and resort fees must be close to 400 CDN a night! I can't swing that and sleep at night. I know a lot of you pay more and that's fine, it's just priced us out of Disney with the passes prices, the now needing lightning lane at additional cost, even the parkhoppers are more now! The food prices have just went up again! I can't see us going back and now I'm bummed! Oh well, this is the life I guess. Thanks everyone for your input. I may still watch and see if they go down but I like to start planning a year out so I really think I will switch to San Diego! I can go for about half the price which is just crazy!!!

Just wanted to second the suggestion of looking into the Desert Palms Hotel & Suites. I've stayed there several times. They have several "Suite" options and do include a pretty decent breakfast (better than the Desert Inn, anyway.) A bit further walk, but nothing terrible (and you don't have to cross Harbor Blvd!)

Just wanted to second the suggestion of looking into the Desert Palms Hotel & Suites. I've stayed there several times. They have several "Suite" options and do include a pretty decent breakfast (better than the Desert Inn, anyway.) A bit further walk, but nothing terrible (and you don't have to cross Harbor Blvd!)

Seems like they are even more expensive for 2 queens and a pullout bed. Looking at $250 USD a night plus all the fees etc. Thanks for the suggestion though!!!

I just booked a room at Desert Inn for February. I was surprised when I got to the total that it showed less per night than at the screen to book. It looks like parking is already included in the total per night. It showed $185 with AAA discount. At the total page it showed $159 and $149 for the breakdown of days. So for 4 nights it came to $842 with all taxes and fees.

Wow, when did they start doing that. It looks like the executive is only 179.99 instead of 210 on the page. Still pricy but $30 a night usd for 8 night is 240 usd which is over 300 cdn bucks. Still considering san diego but there is a little bit of hope.

I feel like the pricing you got is wayyy off, sometimes their reservations are weird and you have to keep checking back. I don't think I have ever seen an Executive that high.

A new California law went into effect on July 1 which requires that mandatory fees (e.g. parking fee, resort fee, etc) have to be included on the booking page, but on the total cost page they can be separated by the nightly room rate and fees. Some things ( such as taxes, shipping costs if applicable) won't be included on the booking page, but will show up on the final page.

While room rates have been going up steadily, requiring that mandatory fees now be included in the nightly rate page has caused a lot of sticker shock.

Thanks so much, this is why I love these boards!!! That is such helpful info as it will also apply if we do the San Diego trip instead. Also, if anyone knows a nice hotel close to Sea World San Diego with 2 queens and a pullout I would love to hear about it (and of course cost is a factor).

So when do people book? It use to be that if you booked a year out when they were first available you would get it the cheapest. It looks like it stays pretty consistent now, is there really any reason to rush any more?

I tend to book as soon as I know I am going, always with a booking that can be canceled, but I also keep looking for a better price. For instance, some hotels/motels in the area do Flash Sales where the prices are surprisingly low, but if you aren't keeping an eye out, you might miss them. For instance, I usually stay at Majestic Gardens. They just had a 2-day sale where the prices were around $60 lower than normal. In that case, it actually made it cheaper to book directly at the sale price than to use the military discount through American Forces Travel. I don't see specials like this from DI&S very often; in fact, I don't know that I have seen one at all as a "flash sale" or such, but I also don't get emails from them.

We love desert Inn but around the $230-$250 mark is normal for a parlor suite which is what we get. Been like that for a few years now.

We always try to stay at the Desert Inn, a couple of trips ago stayed at Eden Roc it's a little further on the other side of park

Sorry it took a bit, the Eden Roc was nice, it was quiet, but it is a bit of a walk

If you like desert palms check out the element. I got a 2 Queen/ 1bedroom with kitchen for $250 including taxes plus half off parking using my AAA discount for my October visit. With the 50% off parking the element will end up costing less. Comes with a bigger room, free breakfast.

We had planned to stay at desert palms but I checked around couldn’t pass up the element deal.

I also love staying at the candy cane in but they are too pricey these days.
